A great way to get a first look at Acadia
Our first trip to Acadia. The tour was a perfect way to get familiar with the area and to get info on the park and some of its most scenic areas. Our guide, Rick was full of knowledge and gave us some of the history of the park, and showed some beautiful areas. We were able to take pictures at all of our stops and even got to try local blueberries growing at Sieur De Monts nature center.

Acadia National Park Major Attractions
While viator is usually excellent, I would recommend the 3.5 hours tour and not this one as you will feel rushed. Also, our tour guide and driver Rick was very rude and instead of speaking about the Park and the history of the sites, he spent time telling us mundane stories about the rich and their dirty laundry. Also, he was inconsistent, he would tell you you can stand at a stop and take photos, next moment when you did that he would say Madam can you move, I have to show something. He spoke from a script and couldn’t remember it. I was talking in a low voice to show my husband something he said in front of 24 people, can you please stop talking, I cannot focus. He said you can ask questions and then when I tried to ask a question he would say sorry, I need to focus on the trip. Every passenger became quiet with his attitude. Rick should be fired as he racially discriminated betweeN people. Also, my advice is HE SHOULD WORK AS HARD AS THE RICH PEOPLE DO, INSTEAD OF AIRING THEIR DIRTY LAUNDRY. WE WERE THERE TO ENJOY THE PARK, not listen to garbage. History is good but should not be a PERSON’s private opinion during his/her job. VERY DISSATISFIED

2 Out of 3 Not Bad
Pickup location was fine, bus left on time to start tour. Bottled water was complementary but warm - yuk. We stopped at Cadillac Mountain for a bit, then on to Thunderhole and then to a secluded spot with a spring, ranger station and more bathrooms. Appreciated the bathroom access. Overall it was a relaxing tour but the driver needs a better presentation on his history. He didn’t seem all that knowledgeable about the area and skipped from one subject to another, which many of us found annoying. We would have appreciated more time up on Cadillac Mountain because it was crowded with other tourists and there was no time to look around the gift shop but that’s neither here nor there. Driver said to come back and drive around the island on our own but if we had time or could, i wouldn’t have taken the tour lol. I still recommend the tour, just read up on the history of Acadia on your own beforehand.

Good tour
Guide was a little hard to understand. He talked fast and the speakers were not loud enough I suppose. But he was very nice and accommodating.

Nice way to see Acadia
Easy to find, comfortable seating and the tour was no-stress. Our tour guide was nice and knowledgeable. To be honest, he just talked too much.

Is Narrated Bus Tour of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 87 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 2,019 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Bar Harbor, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Narrated Bus Tour of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park?

Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bar Harbor can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bar Harbor and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Bar Harbor?
+
Bar Harbor is Acadia National Park access: Park Loop and Cadillac Mountain tours, carriage road bike rides, lobster boat trips, puffin cruises and sea kayaking. Cadillac sunrise reservations are the detail most listings miss. On Outty we rank every Bar Harbor experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Narrated Bus Tour of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park (3.5 Hours), Guided Ebike Tour of Acadia National Park Carriage Roads, Half Day Explorer - Fat Tire E-Bike Rental in Bar Harbor. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bar Harbor?
+
June to October, with autumn colour in early October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bar Harbor?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
