Overpriced and disappointing
This trip is over-rated and over-priced. Firstly, there is not much to see in Mykonos - it doesn't, for example, have old Greek monuments and temples to visit. It's mostly great sea views and charming white buildings and lots of construction activity! So the trip takes you to a lighthouse, some beaches and an old traditional town with a fairly interesting monastery. And Mykonos town. The drive was pleasant and the driver a nice man but he wasn't a guide. He sat in the car while we walked around. Once you've looked at the view, how much longer can you linger? As the tour was ending, he told us we could now either go back to the hotel or he would leave us in Mykonos town. At this point, only 2.5 hours had passed. After remonstrating with him, he called his office and they said they would drop us off in Mykonos and we could call for them to take us back to our hotel (10 minutes away) when ready. And that is what we did. We'd have been better off getting a taxi or even hiring a vehicle ourselves for the day. The company should really have offered us half our money back - 280 euros for what we experienced was extortionate!
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, We are sorry that Mykonos did not meet your personal expectations. However, we would like to clarify that the tour was provided exactly as described, including the lighthouse, beaches, Ano Mera and its monastery, and Mykonos Town. At no point was a tour of ancient monuments or archaeological sites advertised. The service booked was a private sightseeing tour with a professional driver, not a licensed tour guide. The driver is also a local resident with strong knowledge of the island and was available to provide information and assistance throughout the tour. However, as with this type of private driving service, he waits while guests explore each stop independently. As clearly stated in the itinerary, Mykonos Town is a pedestrian area and must be explored on foot. For this reason, you were given the option to remain there and contact us when you were ready to return to your hotel. We accommodated this without any additional charge. The price covered a private vehicle and driver, transportation between several locations across the island, waiting time, and your return transfer. Using individual taxis for the same itinerary and waiting periods would likely have cost considerably more. We therefore respectfully disagree that the service was misleading or that a partial refund was justified. The agreed itinerary and transportation service were fully provided.

The place to go for the best experiences.
I requested an island tour to include sunset viewing and I was blown away. Not only did I see tourist favorites likecthe windmills, I was treated to a very nice view of the residents life, schools, homes, old bakeries still standing but not used. Multiple hidden beaches, favorite fishing spots and a break to enjoy a lovely cup of Greek coffee. All this plus the highlight of watching the sunset by a beautiful lighthouse surrounded by locals. You haven't seen Mykonos until you take one of these tours. My driver Leo was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and made sure that the tour met my personal expectations. Which, was actually exceeded. A must do tour while in Mykonos.

6/5 starts highly recommend
BOOK THIS COMPANY! I truly cannot say enough good things about our tour with Alfred. The communication was so easy, Alfred made us feel like family and was so knowledgeable about the history of the island, all the things we pointed out on the way and all the local spots. This trip was a private tour, which was so much nicer than getting on a bus full of people. This was a completely customized experience that let us see all of Mykonos. If I could give this six out of five stars I would. We will definitely be using Alfred again when we come back.

Why this scores 76
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Mykonos Private Island Tour (3-4 hours): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mykonos.
How much does Mykonos Private Island Tour (3-4 hours) cost?
+
Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mykonos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mykonos Private Island Tour (3-4 hours) take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mykonos is not rushed.
Is Mykonos Private Island Tour (3-4 hours) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 39 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mykonos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mykonos Private Island Tour (3-4 hours)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mykonos Private Island Tour (3-4 hours) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mykonos Private Island Tour (3-4 hours)?
+
Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mykonos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mykonos and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mykonos Private Island Tour (3-4 hours) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mykonos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mykonos?
+
On Outty we rank every Mykonos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tour and Wine Tasting in Mykonian Land, Local Tour with Cruise/Hotel Pick-Up(Small Group or Private), Catamaran Day & Sunset Cruises with meals Drinks and transportation. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mykonos?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mykonos?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
