What you'll see and do
My Son Sanctuary
My Son was the religious and intellectual center of the Champa Kingdom, which flourished on the coast of Vietnam from the 4th to 13th centuries. The monuments of My Son are considered the most important buildings of the Champa Kingdom and were designated as a World Heritage site in 1999. Walk through the temple complex with your guide and hear about its cultural significance, architectural styles and history. Of the 70-plus structures that once stood here, about 20 remain; several are well-preserved while others have crumbled, some of the damage sustained during the Vietnam War. Your guide points out statues of Hindu deities and explains the influence of Hinduism and India on the Champa Kingdom and temple design.

Beautiful , good choice!
In the morning My son sanctuary was very nice, food, and dance included and our guide was great. He taught many things about history in Vietnam, very informative. In the afternoon the other guide took us to the ancient city, it was difficult to manage so many people distracted in the market, so for that , the guide made a lot of effort maintaining the group together.

Best experience of my life
Totally astonishing! Notwithstanding the end of the week swarms and the intense intensity, my better half and I lived it up investigating the Castle. We chose to enlist an aide before our visit, and it ended up being a beneficial speculation for the canny stories and data gave in English. One significant hint for future guests is to be aware of the clothing regulation. While many people believe that covering the shoulders and knees is sufficient, I discovered firsthand that there are specific requirements. I wore stockings under a miniskirt, just to be educated that I expected to lease or purchase a sarong to conform to the clothing regulation prior to entering. It's really smart to be ready and guarantee your clothing lines up with the rules to partake in this fantastic experience completely.

VERY NICE AND PROFESSIONAL
The best tourist guide! Cuu is not only funny but also committed. I just had an incredible experience with him - four hours of non-stop laughter! If you're in Hoi An, don't miss the chance to explore the temples with this guy. And if you get the opportunity to finish with a boat trip, I highly recommend it. A 5-star service that exceeded expectations!

Our tour, led by Mr. Lee, was a fantastic experience. He was not only a knowledgeable guide about the ancient Champa dynasty but also kept us entertained with his humor. The tour was affordable, informative, and deeply moving, enhancing our love for Vietnam. The country's beauty, from its people to its landscapes and cuisine, is truly spectacular. I highly recommend this tour and can't wait to return to Vietnam, one of the world's most beautiful countries.

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Ancient Town: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hoi An.
How much does My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Ancient Town cost?
+
Prices start at $39 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hoi An usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Ancient Town take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hoi An is not rushed.
Is My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Ancient Town worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hoi An, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Ancient Town?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Ancient Town suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Ancient Town?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hoi An can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hoi An and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Ancient Town start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hoi An within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hoi An?
+
On Outty we rank every Hoi An experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include HOI AN Hidden Gems in Rural Villages & River Islands PRIVATE TOUR, Coconut Jungle Eco & Hoi An City Tour With Boat Ride, Cooking Class Hoi An:Local Market, Basket Boat, Fishing & Cooking. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hoi An?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hoi An?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
