Traveler reviews
7 verified traveler reviews for Murder Mystery Detective Experience in Bend OR. Ratings and reviews provided by Viator and Tripadvisor.
A novel experience, but needs to be kept up to date.
Some of the clues were out dated as the businesses they referenced are no longer there. One of the clues is excessively far from all the others which are roughly grouped together. It was .4 miles away from the others (.8 round trip) and was in an industrial district with lots of traffic noise and not the best for walking. (This is the Bend Oregon mystery)
Response from the operator: Thanks for sharing your experience. We’re glad you enjoyed the mystery overall, and appreciate you pointing out the outdated clues. Cities change over time, and player feedback is key to keeping everything current. If you’re open to it, please email any specific stops to info@iamhearo.com so we can update them right away. Thanks again for helping us improve.

We were trying
The audio instructions were hard to follow. We ended up in a sketchy part of town after dark. We got tired and hungry and decided to end our quest. I would not book this activity again.
Response from the operator: Thanks for giving Motive for Murder a try. As a self‑paced, location‑based audio game, we know everyone brings their own style and preferences to how they play. We appreciate your note about the audio cues and your feedback overall. Even if it wasn’t the right fit for you, we’re glad you gave it a shot - and the nice thing about the experience is that you can always pick it back up another day, with plenty of room to pause for snacks whenever you need a break. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.

Great Fun, but Don’t Take Your Bus!
I am activity director in a senior living community. I took a group of 6 on the Motive for Murder ride. It was great fun. We solved the murder. However, the route was not ideal for a 14 passenger bus. Of course it’s not intended to be a tour bus sort of thing. I would certainly schedule another trip, if I had a smaller vehicle to use.
Response from the operator: Thanks for bringing your group out for the Motive for Murder experience - it’s great to hear everyone enjoyed solving the case. While the routes are designed for standard passenger vehicles, We're glad you and your group of gumshoes managed to make it work!

Detective you
Other than that is was snowing we had so much fun We were laughing and giggling the whole time going from location to location solving it like a real murder and we had so much fun and would like to do the second episode when we can
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for the awesome review! Sounds like you had a blast - even with the snow adding some extra “atmosphere” to your investigation! Ifyou enjoyed Motive for Murder, keep an eye out for our next adventure, Monsters MIA - where you'll embark on a thrilling mission, uncover hidden secrets, and help save the day in a world just beyond the ordinary!

Not what I expected
This is not what I was expecting. It’s self guided. There are very few pictures and no video. If you like listening to audio books you might like this. I wanted something more interactive.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the experience wasn’t what you were expecting. Our mystery is designed as a self-guided audio experience, and we understand it may not appeal to everyone. We appreciate your thoughts and will keep them in mind as we continue to refine and expand our offerings.

Murder Mystery Detective Experience in Bend OR: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bend.
How much does Murder Mystery Detective Experience in Bend OR cost?
+
Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bend usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Murder Mystery Detective Experience in Bend OR take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bend is not rushed.
Is Murder Mystery Detective Experience in Bend OR worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.1/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bend, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Murder Mystery Detective Experience in Bend OR?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Murder Mystery Detective Experience in Bend OR suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Murder Mystery Detective Experience in Bend OR?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bend can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bend and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Murder Mystery Detective Experience in Bend OR start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bend within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bend?
+
Bend, OR packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Bend by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Bend experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Electric Bike Tour of Bend & Deschutes River, 2 Hour High Cascades Scenic ATV Tour in Bend Oregon, Chocolate Tour Including Hot Chocolate and Samples. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bend?
+
Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Bend, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bend?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
