Keep expectations low to avoid disappointment
Visited began okay, then got a little sad, but picked up at the end but only because it was over and I could leave and find something else to do. The museum isn't up to par but I just needed to get out of the rain. Expensive decision. The murder mystery component was okay and gave me something to focus on as the wax figures were not good and not exactly accurate.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we are disappointed to hear that you did enjoy the museum as much as we would have hoped, we appreciate your feedback as we are always trying to improve the museum, we hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip to Dublin. kind regards Management

Murder Mystery
I agree with another viewer that it was cheesy. However, we had signed up for the murder mystery, we were disappointed in the venue. Part of the time our phones were not connected to wifi, we were under the impression it would be somewhat separate from the rest of the exhibits. With the confusion of others not on the mystery tour we didn't have the experience we wanted.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We’re disappointed that your experience wasn't enjoyable and that you were disappointed with the Murder Mystery experience. All feedback is important to us. We will take it on board and address it with the entire museum team to see if we can improve the visitor experience. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your visit to Dublin. Kind Regards, The Management National Wax Museum Plus

Not a great experience FOR US, but you may feel differently.
Wouldn't do it again. :( We decided to do the Murder Mystery which we were told began at 5pm. We arrived and were given the instructions. As we were trying to decide who the murdered was. we decided to go look at 2 of the clues again. Well, they started shutting the lights off behind us, which was an issue because the answer was in the room we were stepping out of, so we were suppose to return to it to scan the QR code to see if we were correct or not. We didn't realie we'd be rushed out. We were in fact so rushed that we never got the souvenir photo we prepayed. It wasn't the best experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry to hear about your experience. We aim to provide an enjoyable and engaging experience for all visitors, so it's disappointing to hear that you felt rushed. The team usually starts to warn with the lights that the museum close since we close at 7pm. Regarding the souvenir photo, please reach out to us directly (hello@waxmuseumplus.ie) with your booking details and we'll do our best to arrange a solution. We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you. Best regards, The Management Team.

How far in advance should I book Murder Mystery at the National Wax Museum Plus?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dublin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?

What are the best things to do in Dublin?
+

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Dublin?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Dublin?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
