    Magic Mike !!

We had a direct connect to Mike through our Hotel (Louis Hotel - another gem in Munich). Ever since the first phone call, Mike was fabulous - he understood our family, needs and the kind of trip we were looking for. He was great to communicate with, was on-time and took care of our toddlers car seat in advance. Our trip included a full day tour from Central Munich to Bad Reichenhall -> Lake königssee -> Salzburg and then back. We are dog lovers ourselves, so we were so happy to have Mike's sweetheart, "Silva" accompany us on the tour. We spent the whole day petting him and in wonder of how well behaved Silva was. He certainly helped us miss our own dogs back a lil bit less :). Mike was excellent throughout the trip- great conversations, insights, energy, authenticity and knowledge of the whole region, mountains, sights, history etc packed in 1 person. Loved the hidden gems that Mike showed us along the trip (Hitler's residences, Mozart 's house, history of different towns, Bavaria and landscapes and so on). It was a great day too so we made the most of it. Thank you, Mike and good luck with your book. See you again hopefully in the future!

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for your incredible review! We're absolutely thrilled to hear we delivered such an unforgettable experience. We truly appreciate your kind words. Safe travels further - on behalf of Mike and Mike’s Private Car Tour Team.

    Fabulous Sights to See!

This tour is amazing for seeing the incredible views of both Austria and Germany! You can’t put a price on the spectacular sights and historical events that you learn about on this tour. The Alps were magnificent, even in the summer! Alex was our guide, and he was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Time was tight at the beginning to get to Eagle’s Nest, and he made sure we got there on time. We were a bit disappointed with Eagle’s Nest, because it’s really not much more than a viewpoint and a restaurant now. Salzburg was fun seeing the sites from the Sound of Music. It is a beautiful city to visit. What would have been nice was to have a microphone inside the vehicle, as only the front seat passenger could hear Alex for the entire day. The walking pace of the tour was a bit fast for the age of our group, but when we communicated that, it was received kindly.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the fantastic review! We are thrilled you enjoyed the magnificent Alpine views, Salzburg, and learning about the region's history with Alex. We truly appreciate your helpful feedback regarding the vehicle microphone and the walking pace—we will definitely share this with the team to ensure an even better experience moving forward. We hope to welcome you back for another tour soon!

Getting the most out of our time in Bavaria

Because we are a family of six it wasn’t much more to do a private tour than it would have been for us to all join a bigger tour. Man, are we glad we opted for the private tour. We spent two days with Alex. First we did the Neuschwanstein and Linderhof tour and then we did Berchesgaten and Salzburg. It was so nice to just be picked up and dropped off from our hotel. We also really enjoyed the flexibility offered to us. The first day we got to do an alpine coaster. The second day we squeezed in some swimming. Alex was very knowledgeable and having him guide us made us SO much more efficient so we could see as much as possible in a limited amount of time. I would recommend these tours to anyone. If we had been in Munich a day longer we would have loved to spend another day exploring with Alex.

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for your incredible review! We're absolutely thrilled to hear we delivered such an unforgettable experience. We truly appreciate your kind words and can't wait to welcome you back for another adventure! Safe travels further - from your Mike’s Private Car Tour Team.

    Eagle's Nest & Salzburg

Alex was incredible in every way! Starting with our drive from Munich - the day was near perfect! He helped us navigate the Eagle's Nest experience! We then had a delicious, authentic lunch in Salzburg. He then showed us all the highlights in Salzburg, including lots of Sound of Music spots! Would hire him again in a heartbeat!

Munich: Private Salzburg, Eagles Nest, Sound of Music Sites Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.

How much does Munich: Private Salzburg, Eagles Nest, Sound of Music Sites Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $1395 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Munich: Private Salzburg, Eagles Nest, Sound of Music Sites Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 10.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.

Is Munich: Private Salzburg, Eagles Nest, Sound of Music Sites Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Munich: Private Salzburg, Eagles Nest, Sound of Music Sites Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Munich: Private Salzburg, Eagles Nest, Sound of Music Sites Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Munich: Private Salzburg, Eagles Nest, Sound of Music Sites Tour?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 10.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Munich: Private Salzburg, Eagles Nest, Sound of Music Sites Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Munich?

    +

On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Munich?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Munich?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
