    Fascinating & Perfectly Paced Tour

A really interesting and enjoyable tour. We explored Crawford Market and picked up some great purchases, visited a temple, and spent time at a peaceful cow sanctuary which we loved. The highlight was seeing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus – fascinating and full of history. It was incredibly hot, but our guide Javed was brilliant—he went at our pace, adapted the tour to suit us, and was very understanding when we decided to skip food stops. A great way to experience different sides of Mumbai, made even better by such thoughtful guiding. Highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re really glad you enjoyed exploring Crawford Market, the temple visit, and the peaceful time at the cow shelter. And of course, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus is always a highlight with its incredible history and architecture. We truly appreciate your kind words about Javed—he’ll be happy to hear that his flexible and guest-focused approach made your experience more comfortable, especially in the heat. Thank you again for recommending us, and we hope to welcome you back to Mumbai for another unique experience soon!

    Very enjoyable !!

A very enjoyable tour with Chirag. We had arrived early AM from the UK and wanted an afternoon tour for just 2-3 hours This tour hit the spot ! Various street food stalls, foody and textiles markets, a hindu temple and a cow sanctuary . It was a local holiday Saturday and Chirag escorted us carefully through the throngs of shoppers and the vehicles which peeped incessantly . At the end he found us a taxi and called later to make sure we reached our hotel safely . We would definitely recommend Chirag and this tour although for some a quieter midweek day might be less hectic !!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your wonderful review. It was a pleasure hosting you, and I’m glad the shorter afternoon tour suited you well after your early arrival. I’m happy you enjoyed the street food, markets, temple, and the cow shelter visit, even with the lively weekend crowds. I always try to make sure guests feel comfortable and safe throughout the experience, so I’m glad you appreciated the assistance with the taxi and follow-up. Thank you also for your recommendation — and yes, weekdays are definitely a bit calmer! I hope to see you again on your next visit to Mumbai.

Bala will be very happy to read this — he truly enjoys showing guests the real side of Mumbai, and it’s wonderful to know his pace and storytelling made the experience memorable for you. It means a lot to us that you appreciated the blend of history, culture, architecture, daily life, and street food. We hope those memories stay with you long after your trip. I’ve been on 3 similar tours and this is by far THE BEST!

This is my 3rd food tour in Mumbai - I’m here a lot for work - and Chirag’s tour was by a country mile the best I’ve ever been on. You’ll do more steps than on your average tour but at a very leisurely pace and Chirag peppers the walk with amazing insight from a local about life for the average Mumbaikar. 100% recommended.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We’re truly honored that, out of all the tours you’ve experienced in Mumbai, you found ours to be the best. It was a pleasure having you join us, and we’re so glad you enjoyed the pace, the insights, and the local flavors along the way. Your recommendation means the world to us, and we look forward to welcoming you back whenever you’re in Mumbai again.

    Friendly, knowledge guide highly recommend!

Chirag - what a guide!! From start to finish, this is a brilliant tour from a man who is incredibly knowledge, friendly about his city. Shows parts of Mumbai that you are so unlikely to go as a regular tourist and I couldn't recommend him more!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words and wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed exploring the lesser-known parts of Mumbai with Chirag. Our goal is always to provide a warm, insightful experience that helps guests see the city through a local’s eyes. Your recommendation means a great deal to us, and we look forward to welcoming you on another tour whenever you’re back in Mumbai.

Mumbai Market and Temple Tour With Cow Shelter Visit: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mumbai.

How much does Mumbai Market and Temple Tour With Cow Shelter Visit cost?

    +

Prices start at $2150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mumbai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mumbai Market and Temple Tour With Cow Shelter Visit take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mumbai is not rushed.

Is Mumbai Market and Temple Tour With Cow Shelter Visit worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mumbai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mumbai Market and Temple Tour With Cow Shelter Visit?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mumbai Market and Temple Tour With Cow Shelter Visit suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mumbai Market and Temple Tour With Cow Shelter Visit?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mumbai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mumbai and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mumbai Market and Temple Tour With Cow Shelter Visit start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mumbai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mumbai?

    +

On Outty we rank every Mumbai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Elephanta Caves & Island Guided Private Tour, Dharavi Slum Tour, Mumbai: Dharavi Slum & Dhobi Ghat Laundry Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mumbai?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mumbai?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
