Memorable trip to the mountaintop
I enjoyed the trip. It was my first time doing something like it (an overnight hike to a mountaintop before sunrise), and it felt exciting. Going in January, it did get cold, so you should definitely wear layers. For a relatively short hike, there were plenty of coffee/rest stations along the way. The sunrise itself was great. Unfortunately the monastery was closed for a religious holiday when we were there; that's something you should check ahead of time on the monastery's website. It was still impressive seeing it from the outside and in the entrance courtyard, though. It's worth noting that pickup/dropoff can each take an hour if there are 20+ people all staying in different hotels, so it's important to block out plenty of time after sunrise when planning. Would definitely recommend though!
