Marangu Route: Known as the “Coca-Cola” route, the Marangu route is a classic trek on Mount Kilimanjaro. It is the oldest, most well established route. Many favor the Marangu route because it is considered to be the easiest path on the mountain, given its gradual slope. It is also the only route which offers sleeping huts in dormitory style accommodations. The minimum days required for this route is five, although the probability of successfully reaching the top in that time period is quite low. Spending an extra acclimatization day on the mountain is highly recommended when climbing Klimanjaro using the Marangu route. However, despite its immense popularity, we avoid leading climbs on the Marangu route. The route has the least scenic variety of all the routes because the ascent and descent are done on the same path and it is the most crowded route for that reason. Marangu is favored only during the rainy season, where the hut accommodations are preferred.

“The toughest climb ever”
An exciting excursion, this picnic and camping are so pleasurable to immerse us in nature that ordinary living in the city never was, especially after many busy days of urban life. I absolutely suggest this agency for anyone looking to explore and have fun in the future for their outstanding customer service and kindness.
Response from the operator: Good day Adriane, I want to express our gratitude to you and your team for this opportunity that you gave us and hopefully I will see you again soon in Tanzania. Special thanks, Oscar Swai

Amazing Country, Unique service with Exceed Expectations Tours...
I was second year university student when I decided to save money to climb #Kilimanjaro after I graduate, and here today share some of my favorite moments. Kilimanjaro it’s not a part of a chain like the Himalayas, its hanging out all alone, in the middle of Africa. It stands 19.341 FT / 5,985 M above sea level. I experienced all sorts of climates from the first day as we hiked up to the top. During the first two days rocked pens and a T- shirts as we hiked through rainforest like areas, by day three I’d switched to a long sleeve shirt due to colder mornings, but as you’ll see in the future (I know you’re going to hike too…kidding) by the time I hate the summit I had on so many layers I couldn’t put my arms down. I celebrated my success and my graduation in the highest free standing mountain in the world, such feeling lives with me up to today, surely I will go back there for Safari and culture tour in the coming days. Amazing country, excellent guide and Exceed expectations Tours is all you need in Tanzania. Highly recommended for your safety and unique service.

Mountain Kilimanjaro Climbing 6 Days Marangu Route: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Moshi.
How much does Mountain Kilimanjaro Climbing 6 Days Marangu Route cost?
+
Prices start at $2,436 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Moshi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mountain Kilimanjaro Climbing 6 Days Marangu Route take?
+
Plan for about 144 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Moshi is not rushed.
Is Mountain Kilimanjaro Climbing 6 Days Marangu Route worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Moshi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mountain Kilimanjaro Climbing 6 Days Marangu Route?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mountain Kilimanjaro Climbing 6 Days Marangu Route suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 144-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mountain Kilimanjaro Climbing 6 Days Marangu Route?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Moshi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Moshi and add a light layer if any part of the 144-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mountain Kilimanjaro Climbing 6 Days Marangu Route start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Moshi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Moshi?
+
On Outty we rank every Moshi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfall, Coffee Tour and Picnic Hot Lunch, Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Plantation Half Day Tour, Kilimanjaro climb, Machame Route (7-day). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Moshi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Moshi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Mountain Kilimanjaro Climbing 6 Days Marangu Route?
+
Included: Lunch; Dinner; and Breakfast. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Does Mountain Kilimanjaro Climbing 6 Days Marangu Route include hotel pickup?
+
Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 1 listed pickup location in and around Moshi. Be ready about 240 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.
What languages is Mountain Kilimanjaro Climbing 6 Days Marangu Route offered in?
+
It is offered in English and French. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Mountain Kilimanjaro Climbing 6 Days Marangu Route?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
