Fun to see this iconic volcano

Gradual incline the whole way, loose gravel. Easy to moderate incline. The parking/shuttle drop off area is very disorganized. They need to have better queue signs for where to stand when you need a ride back down. It was very congested with busses and vans coming in and dropping hoards of people off with no designated drop-off zones. Just seems like that could be better managed. Also there are several steps for each person to do on their phone before you can start the tour (download an app, sign in, etc). Not sure what children without a device do because there are no headsets.

Waste of money - don't buy

Waste of money. The audio guide is read by an AI voice and doesn't tell you anything you didn't either already know, or could read on the info boards on the way up. It's possibly AI generated entirely - it certainly reads as if it could be. The "skip the line" tickets were totally irrelevant as there was no line. And the timed ticket entry is seemingly meaningless - we arrived as 12 instead of 11 after bus delays and nobody batted an eyelid. We have done other viator guided trips and thought they were excellent but this one is a total waste of money. Just turn up, buy tickets, walk up the volcano.

    We were sent an email...

We were sent an email with a link that said to click to get your ticket, which I did and added to Apple wallet but when got there the man on the gate said that wasn’t a ticket and we couldn’t get in with that. There’s very little / no WiFi signal so had to try and search for an askos rep (no sign of one) whilst trying to get some WiFi. After 30 mins managed to get signal and find a ticket at the very bottom of an email in junk. But the bar code ticket they say is your ticket isn’t the one. So beware!

    Life changing volcano hike

The best thing to see in Naples and that’s saying a lot!!! What an experience! Some uphill hiking required but well worth it!!! If you can do this hike and the Pompeii ruins your visit to Naples will be unforgettable!

Great tour but lousy tour operator

The trek up the hill to the crater is more strenuous than I was expecting due to the description, but it was fine if you are in decent shape The crater is incredibly impressive and the audio guide was helpful I booked this excursion 10 months ago for a 10 AM entry time and 2 days before our excursion , the tour company advised me that the time was not available and that I would need to come at 2 PM instead They would refund me the money if it didn’t work out I was not happy at all about this and had to switch my itinerary last minute to be able to get there at 2 pm Very poor customer service

Mount Vesuvius Skip the Line Ticket + Multilingual Audio Guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naples.

How much does Mount Vesuvius Skip the Line Ticket + Multilingual Audio Guide cost?

    +

Prices start at $22 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naples usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mount Vesuvius Skip the Line Ticket + Multilingual Audio Guide take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naples is not rushed.

Is Mount Vesuvius Skip the Line Ticket + Multilingual Audio Guide worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 35 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mount Vesuvius Skip the Line Ticket + Multilingual Audio Guide?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mount Vesuvius Skip the Line Ticket + Multilingual Audio Guide suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mount Vesuvius Skip the Line Ticket + Multilingual Audio Guide?

    +

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mount Vesuvius Skip the Line Ticket + Multilingual Audio Guide start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naples within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Naples?

    +

On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Private Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento/Naples/Salerno, Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Naples?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Naples?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
