From the top of Vesuvius
This is a great way to get to the volcano, and the volcano didn't disappoint. The guides drove you there and we got over an hour to hike to the top and back. depending on your fitness level this should be enough time, but it IS a hike of 30% plus grades with loose gravel. The meeting location was confusing and didn't match the pin, and there were other guides providing the same type of tour at the same location. We asked around and found the right spot; everyone was very helpful. Take the subway there and save yourself a taxi, it is a 30-minute taxi ride to the location from Naples central station, and no taxis will come pick up that far out. The subway station is just a very short walk from meeting location.

Long delay, no excuses or explanation, reckless driver
The office is right in front of the train station, so it was easy to find. This is the only positive. Our bus departed with 38 minutes after the booked hour. No explanation was provided by the employees in the office. We had to ask them repeatedly to give us an estimate of the time the bus would arrive for our trip, as we had to make sure we would be back in due time for our train back to Napoli. No excuses were presented for the delay. The driver was driving recklessly on the narrow winding road to the top of the Vesuvius Mountain, making us feel insecure throughout the trip. However, the trip to the Vesuvius Mountain remains one of the highlights of our vacation in Naples, Italy and no one should miss it - just book with another operator.

About delay: once you get the reservation you don't need to be worried because everything is under control. The most of the time some delay is due because of more bus on the road to Vesuvius, some traffic or different reason but the 98% of the time all the bus are ready and punctual. I can understand some kind of frustastion or stress but once you are here you should leave at home every kind of anxiety and consider our office for every support. If the driver didn't excuse we are ready to make it and we invite all the future travellers that are reading this comment to book with us but coming with relax and serendipity...there's always a solution to everything and if you appreciated at the end of your trip in Italy it means it was great. Stay away!
To call this a tour is a scam. The train station at Ercolano Scavi was in terrible condition and disgusting. The 'comfortable tour bus' had no air conditioning, which was miserable in 100+ degree weather and the 'tour guide' was non existent. The bus driver and the guy who met us at the entrance were rude and slimy. We were dropped off and told to explore despite being told we would have a guide to explain the history of Mt. Vesuvius. No explanation that there was a volcanologist tour every 15 minutes, so we were unaware of this detail that might have changed our whole experience. And to continuously ask for a tip, nope! Do not book with this company! This was the worst tour we took on our Italian family vacation.

The train station at Ercolano Scavi is a worksite for restyling and renovation, so it could be not at the best form but this aspect doesn't affect to this experience. The problem on air conditioning of the bus company it can happen, every day all the bus leave with fresh air conditioning. Sorry but not tour guide is mentioned in this tour: the only one you can ask as detailed on the top. We don't appreciate and like negative reviews at all because we like to do our best every day before, during and after. This is the reason why it's a pity to read on this platform while we could have had a "Human relation" with feedback, trying to give you assistance, trying to solve some aspects where possible. Our office is always ready to manage every single reservation. So it seems there's a pleasure to share with the rest of the world a single experience (our evaluations are over 4 and on the others 5/5). Best regards and good life, with less exclamation points and more opportunitoes of sharing feeling, impressions and details directly with us useful for everybody.

The meeting point was clear and the bus transportation was outstanding 👏. If driving to meeting point yourself, there's a parking garage not more than 75 feet away across the street. Depending on the size of your car the price will very. Very helpful staff !!

Great way to experience Vesuvius
Plenty of time to walk up and down and have a drink along the way. Gravel path exposed to the sunlight, appropriate footwear required to avoid slipping. Wonderful views. Well worth it
