It's all downhill 😀😀
Very professional team, I booked solo and ended up in Group of 3 which was great fun. We all used soft tail bikes and they managed to fit all our heights up to 6'7" bikes had drop seat posts and were well maintained. The ride was mostly down hill (99%). Three small hills, 2 quite steep, but no more than 400 meters each. Difficulty was ok, anyone who regularly rides a bike won't have any issues. You do go and see the volcanos but you dont start from the craters or on their rough slopes. The route is paved road, paths and some unmade paths and tracks that are a bit more interesting. But for the main you are off the road and there are some amazing rice terraces to be seen. Our Guide and Driver were excellent. Making sure no one got left behind (even on the hills) and giving us info as we rode. Our driver met us several times and made sure water bottles were refilled and snacks provided. The ride was 28km and started about 10am and finished about 1pm. We had a tasty lunch then went off our separate ways. I was in in a hotel outside Ubud, so only a 40min trip home. If you are travelling from the south add 2hrs. Overall recommend this, I am curious how much more difficult the harder ride is 🤔😀 . Great team, really recommend.

Riders of all abilities or can tailor to harder trails.
This is my second time with these guys. Was every bit as good as the first. Great views, and the guides took account for the various riding capabilities.

Excellent Adventure!
Got on to the Mt Batur ride as a solo rider joining 4 other people. The whole thing was super smooth from booking to pickup, getting started the ride and heading home. The ride started in a car park and very quickly went off road down some very narrow trails through a lot of greenery! The ride took us through some wonderful scenery including small villages and rice fields, before ending in Ubud with a ride up towards the monkey forest (the bit I liked least...traffic and uphill! :D ). Before ending there is anice little run down a dcent hill before the path continues down some rideable steps (you don't have to ride them...you can walk). The equipment was great, bike nicely setup and ready to ride (went full-suss and the dropper post was handy at the steps!). Staff we great, super friendly and helpful. Would definitley recommend riding with these guys. Hope I get back to Bali again...would love to ride more of this fantastic place.

A great experience....
Everything about this just worked on the day. We got picked up from our villa in Seminyak right on time and the drive to the start point was an easy 2hrs. We had 3 in our party and we joined another 2. Our group was a mix of experienced and novice riders. This route is an intermediate course. It had some tight and tricky sections as well as some long open downhill roads. It was the perfect balance for us. There are some spectacular views and majestic countryside - forests, cornfields, elephant grass, paddy fields, single track dirt tracks and sealed pathways, The bikes were excellent, new and well configured for our requirements. Our guide was also excellent (Artha) and got a good balance of progress and patience, always giving us clear direction and making sure we were all ok. This is not a sight seeing tour - its an MTB ride - so don't expect a tour commentary or an audio guide! That said, Artha has plenty of knowledge to share about local temples etc on the occasional stop. At the stops, the refreshments were delicious local snacks and ice cold drinks and the support crew were great at taking your bike and making sure you were comfortable. Lunch was really nice in a local eatery half way down a hill - where you can also pay a little extra for a Bintang if you want one! I would say the vast majority of the route is practically traffic free - or on roads to link sections that were small local lanes. The final stage down in to Ubud has some paths with steps to ride down (great fun) and a couple of busier roads but riding up past monkeys on the edge of monkey forest is not something you do every day! Overall we had a great day experts and novices alike. If you have some experience on a MTB its worth doing this route, with this company. I would highly recommend it, and we will be aback, perhaps mountain to beach next time.

Great day riding
Since there were 5 of us, (50+) we had a private group - Su, our guide was great and lead us along the back paths of Ubud safely and with care to the different skill levels within the group. The scenery was beautiful and away from tourists- a fun and memorable experience.

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Mount Batur to Ubud – Light Off Road Cycling Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Seminyak.
How much does Mount Batur to Ubud – Light Off Road Cycling Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Seminyak usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mount Batur to Ubud – Light Off Road Cycling Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Seminyak is not rushed.
Is Mount Batur to Ubud – Light Off Road Cycling Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Seminyak, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mount Batur to Ubud – Light Off Road Cycling Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mount Batur to Ubud – Light Off Road Cycling Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Mount Batur to Ubud – Light Off Road Cycling Adventure?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Seminyak can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Seminyak and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mount Batur to Ubud – Light Off Road Cycling Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Seminyak within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Seminyak?
+
On Outty we rank every Seminyak experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Bali Waterfalls: Tibumana, Tukad Cepung and Tegenungan, Bali Instagram Tour: The Most Scenic Spots, Ubud Hot Springs and Waterfall Private Guided Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Seminyak?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Seminyak?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
