Mount Batur (Gunung Batur) is an active volcano located at the center of two concentric calderas north west of Mount Agung on the island of Bali, Indonesia. The south east side of the larger 10×13 km caldera contains a caldera lake. The inner 7.5-kilometer-wide caldera, which was formed during emplacement of the Bali (or Ubud) ignimbrite, has been dated at about 23,670 and 28,500 years ago.

Mr Batur climb
Definitely not an easy hike if you never hiked before. But im stubborn and wanted to finish. Our guide Saji was the best, dude literally pulled me up the mountain. He was very patient and made the climb as easy as possible. With practice I would definitely book again. Even though I fell multiple times on the way down, Saji definitely made the the whole experience worth it.

Somewhat rough pickup, amazing guide for hike
Our pickup and arranging of pick up was not necessarily ideal. I was messaged by two different drivers saying they would be picking us up, although the owner was incredibly responsive and quick to fix. At the pickup time, my husband and I were ushered into an extremely small third row of a car which we absolutely did not fit into. After 10 minutes of being quite uncomfortable, we did ask the driver to stop and rearrange and were on our way. From when we arrived at the meeting point, it really was a great experience. We were provided the option to have hot coffee or tea and to rent jackets or blankets. Our guide was phenomenal - I had a difficult time going up the mountain and he held my hand almost the entire time and was so patient when I asked to stop. I would book again without hesitation.
