Driver was awful !!
The hike was amazing and the view was incredible !! My tour guide was the best !! Once you get to the top you get a banana sandwich and you can buy water. My only issue was with the driver who was just awful. His driving was erratic on the almost 2 hour drive to get there. One the trip was over, we thought we were going back to our hotel because we had not eaten in almost 7 hours. The driver ended up bringing 2 hour guests to a different location which took 1.5 hours. After dropping them off, we asked him to stop somewhere so we could get some lunch to go. His reply was that therewas nowhere to park and he would have to keep driving around until our food was ready. He proceeded to bring us back to our hotel in Seminyak and that was another 2 hour ride with no food or water !! We went almost 10 hours with no food or water.

The best!
It was amazing! So very well organised! We had two guides, one in the front and one at the back. As I’m a bit slower, the one at the back stayed with me through the whole trek! He was so polite and ended up giving him a tip! God bless you!🙏🏾

Trip with 15 person and all is perfect.
It was really wonderful trip. We book the trip with Bali Ubud Tour. We are small group with 15 person. They pick up us at 2 am, with large car. It is good for 15 person. The sunrise is really amazing. We spend 2 hours on the trek to get summit of the mount Batur. This is really recomend for every one if don't have any serious health problem who come to Bali. 1000% recommended.

Best sunrise ever!
We booked Mt Batur sunrise trekking trip and it was worth it! Our driver was very kind, spoke good enogh english. We had great pancake and coffee breakfast before hiking. We were given flashlights by our guide, and went up the mountain. My suggestion is if you dont feel comfortable about hiking, dont do it. The trial is very rocky, there is a lot of people pushing around to get the best spot and it is really dark even with flashlight so you have to be very careful. But if you feel like you can do it, you probabaly can ;) Remember to bring a good pair of trekking boots and jacket, as its really cold at the top. The view at the top is epic. You can enjoy sunrise at the top of a volcano. We got a bread/egg breakfast at the top, took loooots of photos and went down to meet our driver. We were dropped off at the doorstep of our hotel in Ubud. The trip was well organised, no problems at all, no hidden cost, no forcing us to buy anything, and the price was very good too! You wont regret going to Mt Batur with Bali Ubud Tours ;)

Mount Batur sunrise trekking: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ubud.
How much does Mount Batur sunrise trekking cost?
+
Prices start at $38 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ubud usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mount Batur sunrise trekking take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ubud is not rushed.
Is Mount Batur sunrise trekking worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mount Batur sunrise trekking suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mount Batur sunrise trekking?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mount Batur sunrise trekking start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ubud within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ubud?
+
On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ubud?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ubud?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
