Hike with Ketut - you won’t regret it!

This climb is elite and will be fine if your fitter (mentally & physically) than the norm. Communication, pickup, was great but our awesome guide Ketut, made the trip what it was and will go as fast or slow as you need. We started at 11pm and was back at the car park but 9:45am with plenty of time at the top to enjoy everything.

    Bucket List experience

Exactly as advertised. You do need to pack your own water and food that you must carry. Guides were super helpful and as we got to Checkpoint 5 to quickly we stopped there for 90minutes and they made us coffee and a fire before summiting before sunrise.

Mount Agung long trek - thoroughly recommend!

I completed the hike via the long route starting at the temple. We began hiking around 11pm. We breaked for 2 hours 2:30-4:30am and summited at 6am. We then started our descent at 7am and completed the hike at 9:30am. The views at the top are stunning. The sunrise with Mount Rinjani in the distance are superb. My guide was extremely helpful and I enjoyed the experience very much. They also organised for a driver to collect and drop me off to and from Padang Bai. The hike itself is quite gruelling and would require decent fitness, but previous hiking experience not essential. Several people did turn back but they did not have the required level. The descent was particularly tough in my opinion, very steep and slippery for the first 1.5 hours on tired legs. It does then get easier as it’s less steep and you get into the rhythm again.

    11/10 Sidequest

The guides were great; 2 out of 4 made it to the summit, while 2 spent the night at Base Camp 3. Highly recommended for athletic people with mountaineering experience, but the hike should not be underestimated. Preparation should not be underestimated, and a good night’s sleep beforehand should be planned for.

Fantastic operator, excellent value for money

Awesome experience, definitely recommend. Very easy to communicate with, everything was done on WhatsApp. My driver Agus was puncture and friendly, went out of his way to accommodate my requests for stops and gave me fantastic food recommendations. I couldn’t have done the trek without Ketut as my guide, who was patient and well prepared, very experienced and knowledgeable. Thanks once again for the unforgettable experience

Mount Agung Sunrise Trekking Private Tours: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ubud.

How much does Mount Agung Sunrise Trekking Private Tours cost?

    +

Prices start at $36 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ubud usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mount Agung Sunrise Trekking Private Tours take?

    +

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ubud is not rushed.

Is Mount Agung Sunrise Trekking Private Tours worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 141 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mount Agung Sunrise Trekking Private Tours?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mount Agung Sunrise Trekking Private Tours suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mount Agung Sunrise Trekking Private Tours?

    +

Around 49 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mount Agung Sunrise Trekking Private Tours start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ubud within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Ubud?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ubud?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ubud?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
