Fun Experience Learning How to Cook Tagine

My two girlfriends and I had a delightful experience! The driver picked us up very close to our riad and our cooking instructors were very kind and hospitable. Although there was a slight language barrier, we learned so much and made a delicious chicken tagine. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Marrakech.

Out of business Took our reservation but when we got there after stressful taxi ride there was no on there and when we talked to adjacent people said they had moved and no one knew where they had go one to When I contacted Viator the lady called the cooking school there was no answer

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We sincerely apologize for what happened. At that time, we were relocating our cooking class to a new venue, and unfortunately there was a communication issue that affected your booking. We understand how frustrating it must have been to arrive and not find us, and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience. We have since updated all our location details and improved our communication process to ensure this cannot happen again. We appreciate your feedback, as it has helped us improve our service. We sincerely apologize once again and wish you all the best.

Still did not receive recipe

The class was fun and staff very friendly. However two days after taking the class we ( and other people taking the class) still have not received the recipe for the food we prepared. We were promised to get this a few minutes after we were done with the class. I even told them ( when we were there) that it was not sent. This is why I only give this a rating of 3 starts. Otherwise a good class.

Response from the operator: Dear kaysmin, Thank you again for your review 😊 We’re really happy you enjoyed the class and our team! We sincerely apologize for the delay in sending the recipe. This is not the experience we want to provide, and we truly appreciate your patience. Please find the recipes below from your class: 🥘 Vegetable Tagine (Serves 4) Ingredients: Onion, potatoes, carrots, green beans, pepper, zucchini, olives, coriander, olive oil Spices: Salt, pepper, cumin, ginger, turmeric, paprika, cinnamon Preparation: Place onions at the bottom of the tagine, add vegetables. Mix spices with olive oil and a little water, pour over. Add olives and coriander. Cover and cook on low heat for 1.5 hours. 🍗 Chicken Tagine with Preserved Lemon & Olives Ingredients: Chicken, onions, preserved lemons, olives, coriander, garlic, olive oil Spices: Salt, pepper, cumin, ginger, turmeric, paprika Preparation: Coat chicken with spices and oil. Place onions in the tagine, add chicken, lemons, and olives. Cook on low heat for 1.5 hours. 🍆 Zaalouk (Eggplant Salad) Ingredients: Eggplant, pepper, tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice Spices: Pepper, paprika, cinnamon Preparation: Grill eggplant and pepper, peel and mash. Cook with tomatoes, garlic, and spices. Finish with olive oil and lemon juice. 🥗 Moroccan Cold Salad Ingredients: Tomatoes, cucumber, onion, pepper (optional), parsley/coriander, olives Dressing: Olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper Preparation: Cut vegetables into small pieces, mix with herbs and dressing. Serve fresh. 🥞 Msemen (Moroccan Flatbread) Ingredients: Flour, semolina, salt, water, oil, butter, honey Preparation: Make a soft dough, rest, divide into balls. Flatten and fold into squares. Cook in a pan until golden. Brush with honey and serve. We hope you enjoy recreating these dishes at home! Hope to welcome you again soon 🌿 Best regards, [Abdoul / Artscape]

Moroccan Cooking Class with Amazing Local Chef in Marrakech!: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does Moroccan Cooking Class with Amazing Local Chef in Marrakech! cost?

+

Prices start at $27 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Moroccan Cooking Class with Amazing Local Chef in Marrakech! take?

+

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is Moroccan Cooking Class with Amazing Local Chef in Marrakech! worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 181 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Moroccan Cooking Class with Amazing Local Chef in Marrakech!?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Moroccan Cooking Class with Amazing Local Chef in Marrakech! suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Moroccan Cooking Class with Amazing Local Chef in Marrakech!?

+

Around 63 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Moroccan Cooking Class with Amazing Local Chef in Marrakech! start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
