Great day out with Michael enjoying the highlights of MP
We had a fabulous tour of the Mornington Peninsula with Michael. Saw as many highlights as he could fit into the day as well as the compulsory 2 cellar doors of Michael’s favourite wineries. Lovely vehicle and amazing lunch included at Pier 10 Thank you Michael for a memorable day
Response from the operator: Thank-you so much for taking the time to send through this wonderful 5Star review, we really appreciate it and are so happy you had a fabulous experience on the Mornington Peninsula. We look forward to seeing you next time!

A must do on a trip to Melbourne!
On our recent cruise around Australia and New Zealand, we made a call to the Port of Melbourne. Contacted Michael at Grape Explorations to see if he would be available for my wife and I to join a tour on the day we were in port. Although he already had a tour booked for that day, he contacted the other couple to see if we could join them and they were happy to have us be included. Michael picked us up at the port, picked them up in the city and we were off for a tour of 3 wineries and gin distillery. What a perfect day it was. The 5 of us had a wonderful time together and some great conversations as we took in the beautiful countryside of the Yarra Valley and sampled some excellent wines and gins. Michael was incredible as both a guide and host. Her was both friendly and knowledgeable, his vehicle was very comfortable, he went out of his way to make sure we had an exceptional outing and that we arrived back to our ship on time for re-boarding. My wife and I agree that it was our favorite excursion on our 2-week cruise. As an added bonus, we became friends with the couple from the UK, exchanged emails and stay in communication.
Response from the operator: Thank-you so much for taking the time to send through this wonderful 5Star review for us, we are so happy you had a memorable experience and enjoyed our beautiful Yarra Valley wine region. It was our absolute pleasure to host you and make the day work out for you all. We look forward to seeing you next time

Just the BEST
Thanks yet again Michael for another great wine and food experience, this time in the Yarra Valley. This is our second booking with Grape Explorations and as with our previous Mornington Peninsula experience we were just as happy. Michael is a great guide and took us to some of those little winery gems that you would not consider visiting. Michael is brilliant and makes the whole day enjoyable. The vehicle is very comfortable and has plenty of room for the wine that is collected along the way. Whether it is the Yarra Valley or Mornington Peninsula I could not recommend Grape Explorations more highly. Thanks again and hope to catch up again. Perhaps Margaret River (only joking). Chris, Margaret & Tristan

Best. Day. Ever.
Stop looking at Mornington Peninsula winery tours & book this one right now!! I booked a private winery tour for 6 of my friends & it was genuinely one of the funnest days I’ve ever had. These guys are clearly the leaders in their field. I’d book again in a heartbeat.

Just perfect
The best way to visit and experience some of the unique wineries in the region. Michael was simply brilliant and catered for us in every way. The wines we tasted were all top quality from some of the boutique producers that know and love the wine they have created. Just as good as the wines we were the wine makers and staff we met who clearly had a passion for what they do. The lunch at Pier 10 included in the tour was also excellent. It included a tasty grazing plate for the two of us to start with. My wife had the barramundi which was generous and perfectly cooked. For me it was the duck confit which was also excellent. A glass of the local was was also included. The garden settings of many of the places we visited were stunning and added to the overall experience. The vehicle was excellent and our host Michael was friendly, knowledgeable and made you feel welcome and as special guests of the places we visited. Could not recommend the tour more for couples or a group of friends that want to enjoy some of what the Mornington Peninsula has to offer. Chris & Margaret.
Response from the operator: Hi Chris & Margaret Thank-you so much again for booking with us and now for sending through this glowing review! We really do appreciate you taking the time to do this and are so happy you both had a great experience on our Private Mornington Peninsula wine tour! We look forward to seeing you both again and exploring some more.

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Mornington Peninsula Wine Region Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Melbourne.
How much does Mornington Peninsula Wine Region Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $250 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Melbourne usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mornington Peninsula Wine Region Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Melbourne is not rushed.
Is Mornington Peninsula Wine Region Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 29 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Melbourne, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mornington Peninsula Wine Region Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mornington Peninsula Wine Region Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mornington Peninsula Wine Region Tour?
+
Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Melbourne can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Melbourne and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mornington Peninsula Wine Region Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Melbourne within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Melbourne?
+
On Outty we rank every Melbourne experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Melbourne: Yarra Valley Wine, Gin, Whisky and Chocolate Tour, Yarra Valley Wine Tour w Exclusive Gin, Cider & Chocolate Tasting, Yarra Valley Wine Tour from Melbourne - Choc, Gin & Good Times. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Melbourne?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Melbourne?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
