A must see sight

Montserrat was beautiful. The guide encouraged us to hike to the cross and we did and the view was outstanding. We were unaware the date booked was Ascension Day holiday and the monastery was so crowded. As a tour, we had no priority to enter. The reason I gave it less stars was our guide talked on the phone for the hour plus ride there and in speakerphone so we heard both sides of the conversation and it was the same returning to our hotel. I thought it was quite rude.

Response from the operator: Linda, I'm so sorry the hands-free phone was on in the car. There were several urgent phone calls to take, and rather than stop the car and waste time, or drive with the phone in my hand, which is dangerous, the hands-free device was activated. I'm sorry this bothered you.

Great guided tour to Montserrat

Gorge was great. Picked us up promptly at our hotel and told us about some of the key sights along the way to Montserrat. When we arrived he took care of all of the arrangements and provided key history while giving us time to take it all in. We visited the black Madonna and were able to hear and see the boys choir from key seats. Our trip back went well. I do recommend you bring your own water and snacks.

Response from the operator: Thank you Kathryn, I was great to spend the morning in Montserrat with you two.

The tour was perfect in...

The tour was perfect in every way. Our guide was right on time to pick us up from our hotel and he got us to Montserrat with plenty of time to spare. He took care of obtaining the tickets for the Abbey, the Black Madonna, and the Boys Choir. He had everything timed perfectly to make sure we were where we needed to be while beating the main rush of tourists, and having plenty of time to go into the shops. We never felt rushed. He even took us on a short hike to the most wonderful view of Montserrat and the valleys below. We were so glad that we decided on the private tour instead of the bus tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you Eric, reading your review is making me very happy. The best to you.

Perfect morning at Montserrat

We had an absolutely incredible morning at Montserrat! Booking a private tour with Viator was the best decision we made. Jorge was professional, punctual, and a literal walking encyclopedia of Catalan history and culture. He tailored the pace perfectly for us, ensuring we saw the Black Madonna without feeling rushed and even gave us some 'insider' tips for the best photo spots. My favorite part was listening to the Escolania Boys’ Choir. A must do if you can! The door-to-door service from our hotel made the entire experience stress-free. Highly recommend requesting Jorge if you can!

Response from the operator: Beth, I could write a lot of words of how nice was to be with you in Montserrat but let me just say Thank you Beth ! you are very nice people !

Great trip to Montserrat!

Jorge our guide was amazing. He picked us up at the hotel and always dropped us at the most convenient locations while he went to park the car. He explained all the background and anything important for us to know. Extremely courteous!

Response from the operator: Thank you, makes me happy to know you enjoyed the Tour and it was very pleasant for me to take you to Montserrat Monastery. I wish you the best.

Montserrat Private Tour All-Inclusive from Barcelona Hotel Pickup: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.

How much does Montserrat Private Tour All-Inclusive from Barcelona Hotel Pickup cost?

+

Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Montserrat Private Tour All-Inclusive from Barcelona Hotel Pickup take?

+

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.

Is Montserrat Private Tour All-Inclusive from Barcelona Hotel Pickup worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Montserrat Private Tour All-Inclusive from Barcelona Hotel Pickup?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Montserrat Private Tour All-Inclusive from Barcelona Hotel Pickup suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Montserrat Private Tour All-Inclusive from Barcelona Hotel Pickup?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Montserrat Private Tour All-Inclusive from Barcelona Hotel Pickup start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Barcelona?

+

Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Barcelona?

+

May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Barcelona?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
