What you get

    About this experience

Montserrat Natural Park is located 50 kms away from Barcelona. We get there enjoying the amazing and UNIque views from our fully equipped private transportation. The first place we will visit in Montserrat’s Natural Park is its Benedictine Monastery, first built on the 11th century and home to Catalonia’s Patroness Saint, The Black Madonna of Montserrat which is a strong symbol of spirituality and unity for the local people. Once we have visited the Monastery area, we hike up to the top, from where we will enjoy the breath-taking views of the Natural Park and most of the territory. During the hike we walk on the same paths used by pilgrims hundreds of years ago, we will get inspired by Montserrat’s fascinating flora and fauna and we will also hike on UNIque ways where rocky pillars and ravines show us how inner mysterious water emerge from the hidden and undiscovered very center of the massif. Back down in the Monastery, we have some free time before we head back to Barcelona.

    Fab tour with excellent guide.

We had such a fantastic experience. Pick up was handy and easy to find. Our guide, Jordi, was really knowledgeable, friendly, and relaxed. We loved Montserrat and found the museum particularly interesting with a great display of artworks. The scenery was breathtaking and the farmer’s market allowed us to sample local produce. Looking forward to visiting again.

    Monserrat is a hidden gem

We had a great guide, Jordi, who took us to Monserrat. Well guided tour with lots of good information about the black Madonna, basillica, history, culture, and nuanced meanings. The hike was cancelled due to the heatwave in July, but we had access to the Museum where we were able to see Monet and Picasso paintings like the "Old fisherman". Beautiful way to end the day. Would recommend Jordi and booking through GYG.

Jordi lead us for the whole trip with lots of introduction and explanation. He will also include some funny games and jokes in between, which make whole trip become much more interesting.

    Really nice combination...

Really nice combination of religious history and outdoor physical activity. Our guide Marc was very informative with both aspects. Perfect day trip from Barcelona!

A good trip to Montserrat to get a feel for it's history.

Was a lovely trip to a very beautiful setting. We saw the essential, learned of the history of the monastery and hermitages and had an enjoyable funicular ride up the mountain and a nice walk down. Our guide was interesting, knowledgeable and very friendly although his English was a bit hard to understand at times.

Montserrat Hiking Experience & Monastery – Small Group (Max 8): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.

How much does Montserrat Hiking Experience & Monastery – Small Group (Max 8) cost?

    +

Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Montserrat Hiking Experience & Monastery – Small Group (Max 8) take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.

Is Montserrat Hiking Experience & Monastery – Small Group (Max 8) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 155 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Montserrat Hiking Experience & Monastery – Small Group (Max 8)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Montserrat Hiking Experience & Monastery – Small Group (Max 8) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Montserrat Hiking Experience & Monastery – Small Group (Max 8)?

    +

Around 54 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Montserrat Hiking Experience & Monastery – Small Group (Max 8) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Barcelona?

    +

Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Barcelona?

    +

May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Barcelona?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
