Great day out to Montenegro
We had a great day out to Montenegro. We went to Kotor and also to Perast and Our Lady of the rocks island. Our guide was ok but I wouldn't say very informative and difficult to understand . We got through customs quickly in the morning but had a delay of over a hour coming back in afternoon. It was a worthwhile trip, Kotor is a beautiful city, although very busy with cruise ship passengers. It was lovely to see it though. Great if you like cats! The island is nice, worth a short visit and Perast is also a lovely village, not much to see but we only had 40min there. All in all I would recommend the day out.

Fantastic coordination...
Fantastic coordination and well paced. The ride didnt feel long at all as it was 45 mins to the border and another 30 mins to the spots.

Worth the visit if you don’t mind delays at the border.
The tour was explained pretty much exactly right. It’s truly beautiful scenery. The climb up the St Nicholas Tower in Perast was worth it for the views but you need to be able to sustain small cramped stairways. There’s a lot of tourists who visit this place. We enjoyed being on the ferry going to Lady of the rocks and then onto Bay of Kotor. Fresh produce in the market in Kotor machine was a highlight for us.

Bay of Kotor trip
Day trip to Bay of Kotor from Cavtat. This was a really well run trip with our guide Hanna running the day like clockwork. Information provided by her was very useful and she was passionate about the history of Croatia and the region itself. The border crossing into Montenegro was fairly hassle free despite the worries that one had. The bus trip was also comfortable and organised. Kotor itself was very beautiful but the numbers of people there with cruise ships etc dis impact on this a little. Plenty of free time to explore though so that was nice. The visit to The Lady of the Rocks was also a lovely trip that was included in the price. It was a very long day but it was well organised, really well led and was somewhere where we have always wanted to see. A very good experience overall and would recommend it to visitors of Cavtat.

waste of time
Absolutely terrible. We paid for a “boat tour” around the bay of Kotor. It was essentially a ferry. It doesn’t stop along the coast to let you swim or jump off like we had thought. Food is not included as you would assume (that’s our fault for not reading the website). To go to the caves is an extra €10 per person on top of the €40. There was barely any seating as it was so crowded, like group had to split up and share tables with other people. We tried to jump off the boat when it stopped at a pebble beach and they said no it’s too dangerous, although just minutes before the boat crew were jumping off! An hour and a half is not enough time to explore Kotor. So disappointing and wish I had booked a different company, don’t waste your time.

Montenegro including boat Cruise in Kotor bay: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Dubrovnik.
How much does Montenegro including boat Cruise in Kotor bay cost?
+
Prices start at $74 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Dubrovnik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Montenegro including boat Cruise in Kotor bay take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dubrovnik is not rushed.
Is Montenegro including boat Cruise in Kotor bay worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 56 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Dubrovnik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Montenegro including boat Cruise in Kotor bay?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Montenegro including boat Cruise in Kotor bay suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Montenegro including boat Cruise in Kotor bay?
+
Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dubrovnik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dubrovnik and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Montenegro including boat Cruise in Kotor bay start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Dubrovnik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Dubrovnik?
+
On Outty we rank every Dubrovnik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Dubrovnik: Game of Thrones Walking Tour, Dubrovnik: 7 Caves & Blue Cave Speedboat Tour (4h), Game of Thrones Extended Tour with Swords and Props. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Dubrovnik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Dubrovnik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
