A Mixed Experience
The first day was wonderful; Mont Saint Michel feels like something from a fairy tale and I highly recommend visiting. Our guide seemed very knowledgeable and was very nice and funny, Our hotel was basic but perfect for our needs, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. I would give this portion five stars if I could. Early on the second day, our tour bus broke down and the entire tour was stranded for more than two and a half hours while a new bus was arranged. We had a new guide for the second day of the trip and she was very polite and knowledgeable, and seemed extremely organized, which I commend. Unfortunatelt, communication with our guide was sparse while we waited, and no concessions or even apologies were offered. Our tour continued after the second bus arrived, but having lost so much time we sped through all three of the chateaus we had come to see. Our trip felt very rushed and incomplete, and by the time we made it to a cafeteria for lunch they had finished serving hot dishes for the day. The chateaus themselves were gorgeous. Langeais was the most like the traditional idea of a "castle" and was in a charming village that we didn't have time to explore. I intend to revisit Chenonceaux in the future because we had to skip so much, the grounds seemed especially beautiful. Chambord, the largest of the three, was also the one we spent the least time in; I believe it was less than an hour from entry to exit of the building itself. I would give this portion of the tour two stars at best.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing such a detailed review. We’re delighted that you enjoyed Mont Saint Michel and appreciated the comfort and quality of the first day. We’re truly sorry, however, for the inconvenience caused by the bus issue and the resulting impact on your second day’s experience. Your feedback is very valuable, and we will review this situation carefully with our team to improve communication and scheduling in the future. Kind regards,

A very scenic tour
Having only a short time in France and wanting to see more than just Paris, this trip was ideal for us. We met our tour guide Alex outside the Pullman Hotel early in the morning and set off for Le Mont St Michel. We had a short stop on the way and arrived at our destination around noon. Alex was a very knowledgeable guide and took us through the village and the abbey, making it all very interesting. There wasn’t a lot of time for lunch. Then there was a rearrangement of travellers so that we joined a tour group that was doing a 3 day tour and some of that group joined Alex and went back to Paris that evening. Our new tour took us to Angers for the night and the next morning we headed off to visit three chateaux in the Loire Valley. Despite many vehicular issues, our tour guides Amelia (for the English speakers) and Marisa (for the Spanish speakers), along with the driver, managed to get us through the planned programme with only a minor extension in time at the end. Amelia was also a very knowledgeable guide and had a great sense of humour. This trip would suit anyone with an interest in history or just a desire to see some different places.
Response from the operator: Dear Carole, Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful review. We’re delighted you enjoyed exploring beyond Paris and appreciated the knowledge and professionalism of Alex, Amelia, and Marisa. It’s great to hear that, despite some challenges, the tour remained enjoyable and well-organized. Kind Regards,

A huge day but worth it
We set off early on the first morning with our tour guide. Lots and lots of driving as was expected but well worth it. We had lots of time at Mount Saint Michel being guided around and then given free time. We had time for a nice lunch then back on the bus. At this point there was some confusion as to what bus we should be on as the bus we arrived on was apparently only the day trip not the overnight trip. I overheard a conversation that made me question which bus I should be on which luckily pushed us and another couple onto the correct bus. The other couple thought they’d mucked up and purchased the day excursion so were trying desperately to find accommodation. This was sorted in the end but caused a lot of grief and uncertainty. Overnight hotel was great and in a good location to walk around Angers town centre and have dinner. The next day was to the Loire valley. There’s no stop at Angers castle as you get in too late to visit. The three chateaus are beautiful and we felt we had enough time at each. Time for lunch at Chenonceaux even queuing for 30 mins still plenty of time for lunch. Long long drive back to Paris. Two big days but sore everything we wanted to. Recommend if you’re ok in a bus for a long time. One star taken off as the three guides we encounter didn’t have a great idea of what was going on. The guide around Mont Saint Michel was provided to us and she was great.

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Mont Saint Michel and Loire Valley Castles 2 Days Guided Trip: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Paris.
How much does Mont Saint Michel and Loire Valley Castles 2 Days Guided Trip cost?
+
Prices start at $529 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Paris usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mont Saint Michel and Loire Valley Castles 2 Days Guided Trip take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Paris is not rushed.
Is Mont Saint Michel and Loire Valley Castles 2 Days Guided Trip worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Paris, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mont Saint Michel and Loire Valley Castles 2 Days Guided Trip?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mont Saint Michel and Loire Valley Castles 2 Days Guided Trip suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 48-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Mont Saint Michel and Loire Valley Castles 2 Days Guided Trip?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Paris can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Paris and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mont Saint Michel and Loire Valley Castles 2 Days Guided Trip start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Paris within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Paris?
+
Paris rewards travelers who book ahead. The headline museums sell timed entry weeks out, the best food walks cap at eight people, and the Seine cruises that are worth doing are the ones that leave after sunset. Everything below is scored by the Outty Ranking so you can tell a genuine local favorite from a coach-tour filler in a single glance. On Outty we rank every Paris experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Louvre Museum Essential Guided Tour Semi Private 6 GUESTS MAX, Louvre Museum Premium Guided Tour 6 GUESTS MAX Entry Included, Paris City Center Free Walking Tour (Tip-Based). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Paris?
+
April to June and September to October, when queues thin out and terraces stay open late. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Paris?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
