Mon St Benet
Món Sant Benet is a unique cultural and leisure project. This unparalleled complex boasts a mediaeval monastery just a few metres away from an innovative international culinary research centre. The complex is just outside of Barcelona, in incomparable natural surroundings. The medieval tour in the monastery (One thousand years of sensations) is a museum production that invite you to become immersed in the life of a monastery, in which voices, everyday noises and images from the past emerge between the walls of this thousand-year-old monastery, converting this tour into a truly unique experience. A route around the principal features of the monastery site: the church, the cloister, the wine cellar and the cells in the Montserrat gallery, enabling us to see what life was really like for the monastery community. After the 75-minute guided tour (in Spanish, with English subtitles), you are free to spend the rest of your time at the complex as you wish. Visit the restaurants, explore the culinary research center, or the shop that sells typical catalan products.

A well recovered space.
Since the beginning of the recovery of all the space of Sant Benet del Bages has undergone a change of 180o, being able to visit both the medieval buildings and the subsequent Baroque reform carried out by the monges of Montserrat. the combination of the audio guide with the mappings and projections takes you to the different eras of splendor of the monastery.

The rigidity of the visiting time, in the Monestir de Sant Benet..
Monestir de Sant Benet el Bages is a medieval monastery of the 10th century, one of the best preserved in Catalonia with olographies that teach us the past of the Benedictine order that made wine. The one I see wrong is such a strict control for visitors that they leave no room to look at one thing if you want twice. Those who enter with audio guides are also subject to strict control and people cannot go to their air with the respect that the visit requires. They try to sell you the ticket whatever you also eat in their restaurant, expensive and not to everyone’s taste, even if it has 1 Michelin star granted from COVID, so that they do not close. The modernist house by the artist Casas that he used as a summer residence is also worth seeing, but it sticks to 1 hour and in a hurry. The Monastery seems to belong to the Abbey of Montserrat, because it is of the same Benedictine order and is managed by the Generalitat de Catalunya which has not learned that with audio guides people should have more time and interest in the place. And to be able to come in when he arrives and not with that rigidity that seems to have to be recorded as at work. That detracts and scares away the desire to return.

pleasantly surprised
It's a little monastery, with a lot of history. But certainly what we liked the most was how it is told. The audio guide is amazing. Told in the first person by the last abbot who had the monastery and supported by a series of videos, light games and holograms in different rooms that immerses you in history. It is certainly the best audio guide I remember in museums or monuments.
