Mon Cheri Cruise Ha Long Bay
In all there are 13 in our group, we cruised the bay which is absolutely magnificent in all it's prehistoric glory, went for a ride on a bamboo boat with some older gentleman taking 8 of us to a cave and back. Went kayaking in the morning and of course lots of time spent during the two happy hours. The food and the team on this boat are absolutely magnificent and would recommend this cruise to anyone. I would like to specifically highlight two of the team on the boat they being Tam (Crew leader) and Duckie (Restaurant/bar host). They were great examples of how well guests are treated on this cruise big well done to both of you. On the downside, (nothing to do with the cruise) there was unfortunately a lot of rubbish and debris in the water due to the recent typhoon off the coast and we felt to many to many cruise boats in the bay taking away some of the spectacular views.. Also driving into the marina area there are a lot of half-built hotels around the place as the developers have gone broke.

Just a great experience overall and really enjoyed the boat/activities: Special shout out to our server Jimmy who was amazing and really was top notch with our large party. I asked Jimmy last minute to help us get an anniversary celebration set up for my in laws 54th last minute and he and the team pulled out every stop to make it special. Really made their night and their cruise. Highly recommend

Outstanding Service
With regards the Halong Bay experience - there are a hell of a lot of boats out there running a huge tourism venture, but if travelling through Vietnam I would not skip it. The landscape is beautiful and we recommend the two night stay over the one night as you will miss a lot and not get enough time to relax. Our experience with Mon Cheri (boat #1) was very good. They run a well organised and safe operation with attentive staff, a clean vessel and plenty of activities. The day trip to Cat Ba Island which offered a cycling tour to Viet Hai village and the kayaking and swimming at a place called Three Beaches were our favourites. The major stand out was the service and the food. The food on the boat was fantastic, very tasty, well presented and lots of it. I had one of the best serves of duck ever and their iced coconut coffee was next level. The staff and service could not be faulted and our host for meal services, Harry, could not have done more and made sure we had the best time.
