What you'll see and do
Adrift Adventures
The tour itself begins in Moab where you’ll meet your professional guide, and receive an intro safety briefing to be fit with lifejacket and gear. From here, hop in the van to the ride to the put-in on a scenic section of the river, where your guide will offer additional instruction about riding inside of the raft. Once you’re ready, push off from the sandy bank and prepare to splash through the canyon.
15 minutes here
On this adventurous whitewater rafting trip, there’s the chance you could see petroglyphs carved in the rocks from the area’s original inhabitants, or old mining cabins, graves, and caves that date to the old Wild West. As you pass an old-growth Cottonwood tree, look up towards the sky to look for bald eagles and they soar and coast on the breeze, and keep an eye out for otters and beavers as they splash and swim in the eddies. You’ll splash through 12 different Class III and IV rapids. Your guide will be rowing the raft with oars, so you can just hang on for the ride, absorbing the desert scenery as you splash your way down the canyon. In the middle of the day, your guide will paddle to a sandy riverbank in a calmer section of water, where you’ll enjoy a filling buffet lunch and can take a refreshing dip. From here, continue splashing your way downstream and listening to your echoes in the canyon, before leaving the Colorado River behind for the comfortable drive back to Moab.
420 minutes here
The Colorado River is an integral part of America’s Wild West, as it’s carved a series of canyons and caverns through the heart of the red rock desert. Here in the Westwater Canyon section, outside the city of Moab, explore the river by whitewater raft along with an informative guide, who will relay the area’s history and tales as you splash for miles down the river.

Incredible day in Westwater Canyon
We had an amazing full day rafting adventure in Westwater Canyon!! We would definitely choose Adrift again when visiting the area. Right off the bat, we felt taken care of with clear communication from the kind owner, calling us a couple of days in advance to make sure we had the best trip possible. Our guide, Tyler, was absolutely top-notch. He filled our day with fun stories, facts about the geology of the area, and more. His passion and knowledge rafting was evident. We were impressed by the lunch spread mid-day, and loved the adrenaline of the rapids in the afternoon. Our kids (age 14, 11 and 11) had a blast and made memories to last a lifetime. Thanks again to Tyler, Phil our driver, and all the team at Adrift for a wonderful day!

Bucket-List Whitewater Adventure on the Legendary Westwater Canyon
Our full-day Westwater Canyon rafting trip with Adrift was one of the highlights of our entire Moab adventure. The scenery is absolutely world-class and unlike anything I've experienced before. Towering canyon walls, incredible geology, and breathtaking views make this one of the most beautiful rafting trips anywhere. A special shout-out to our guide, Steve, who made the day exceptional. He was knowledgeable, professional, fun, and did a fantastic job keeping everyone engaged while making us feel safe and confident on the river. His passion for the canyon and rafting really elevated the experience. The entire crew was outstanding, and it's clear that Adrift has built a strong culture focused on customer experience and safety. I also want to recognize owner "Cranky Mike." With more than 50 years of experience, his leadership shows. He has built an impressive operation with an excellent team, and it is obvious why Adrift has such a great reputation. The rapids were exciting, the scenery was unforgettable, and the entire experience was incredibly well organized from start to finish. If you're visiting Moab and looking for a true bucket-list adventure, Westwater Canyon with Adrift should be at the top of your list. Highly recommended!!!!!!

Excellent experience. The weather was hot, the water wonderful. Michael, the owner of Adrift Adventures could not have been nicer - friendly, helpful;, accommodating. Our guide was knowledgable, friendly and - most importantly, highly skilled at getting us safely through the rapids. I highly recommend Adrift Adventures and will seek them out again whenever I return to Moab.

Fun day trip on the Colorado in Utah!
This is a great company headquartered in north Moab. They came well-recommended by the B&B we were staying at in town so we booked early with them on Viator. There's a variety of different types of tours you can book both on and off the water. Ie. Jeep tours, rafting, etc. We chose to go rafting as my wife and I usually do one of these trips each Summer. We chose the full day Westwater Canyon trip as it offered a nice mix of liesurely float in the morning, a provided lunch, and Class 3 and 4 rapids in the afternoon. My wife and I had forgotten some rafting essentials so we were pleased to find a very comprehensive shop in the store with everything you'd possibly need plus company merch. After about an 1.5 hour drive, we set out with another group of 8 on two rafts each with its own guide. Our guide, Turner, was experienced, super professional, and full of great stories during the float portion of the trip. Sandwich buffet lunch was good although something didn't agree with my wife's stomach. Turner handled the rapids portion of the trip flawlessly and we all had a huge amount of fun! At this time the water level was low so the Colorado River wasn't running too fast. As a result, the rapids, although fun, we're a bit tame. This was definitely NOT the fault of the company but rather our choice of time of our vacation and the conditions of the water. In order to get to the takeout location, we used a motor which saved a huge amount of time. All-in-all a fun day with beautiful scenery and great service from a good company. Highly recommend this excursion!

Why this scores 77
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Moab Full-Day White Water Rafting Tour in Westwater Canyon: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Moab.
How much does Moab Full-Day White Water Rafting Tour in Westwater Canyon cost?
+
Prices start at $256 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Moab usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Moab Full-Day White Water Rafting Tour in Westwater Canyon take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Moab is not rushed.
Is Moab Full-Day White Water Rafting Tour in Westwater Canyon worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 78 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Moab, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Moab Full-Day White Water Rafting Tour in Westwater Canyon?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Moab Full-Day White Water Rafting Tour in Westwater Canyon suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Moab Full-Day White Water Rafting Tour in Westwater Canyon?
+
Around 27 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Moab can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Moab and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Moab Full-Day White Water Rafting Tour in Westwater Canyon start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Moab within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Moab?
+
Moab is the gateway to Arches and Canyonlands: sunrise arch tours, 4x4 runs on Hell's Revenge, Colorado River rafting, canyoneering and dark-sky stargazing. Park entry timing systems change often, so we weight tours that handle reservations for you. On Outty we rank every Moab experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include HIGHLY RATED U-DRIVE Moab Hell’s Revenge UTV Off-Road Adventure, BEST! Hell's Revenge U-Drive 4X4 Tour in Moab +Dinosaur Tracks!, 5-STAR Moab Hell's Revenge UTV U-DRIVE TOUR + DINO TRACKS. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Moab?
+
April to May and September to October, avoiding peak summer heat. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Moab?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
