The wild & unrestored Great Wall
An unforgettable experience organized by China Highlights. The 4 days hike covered the wild & unrestored Great Wall Huanghuacheng (黄花城,), Xishuiyu (西水峪), Gubeikou (古北口), Jiankou (箭扣). It’s was a tailored made trip where I skipped Badaling. I have a personal guide, driver with car. The booking advisor Claire Wong provided prompt service & personal attention to detail from initial enquiry till completion. Everything were well planned, yet flexible & taken care of. To express how good her service was – Claire makes the customer feel guilty not to accept her offer. For the Great Wall, you may review them in Instagram #Greatwall_Apr2019 #Beijing_Apr2019
Response from the operator: Hi Kenny C Glad to read that you had an unforgettable experience hiking along the Great Wall for 4-days. What a wonderful experience to see the contrast and the amzing views. We hope that you are able to visit again to explore more places with us in the future. Customer-care Team

Excellent trip
This is a well organised trip to a quieter but easily accessible part of the wall. Barry, our guide was friendly, well organised and fun to be with. Lunch after the walk was excellent. The whole experience is to be recommended. Chinahighlight stayed in contact, even calling the hotel the day before to confirm the pickup time, even though it was posted online. A memorable day out.
Response from the operator: Hi there We're glad you found our one-day Gubeikou Great Wall Hiking Tour to be well organised and fun! Seemed like you a a great-day out exploring along the Wall with Barry. Hope you can visit and explore more places with us in the future. CH Customer-care Team

Hiking is the way
Walking on the wall on this trip, rather than queueing up to take photos with crowds of other tourists is definitely worth the extra travel time and effort. If you really want to experience the sheer vastness of the structure and appreciate the countryside, this trip delivers all of that. I particularly enjoyed identifying a lot of the plants, shrubs and vegetation along the way. Be prepared for a good hike, pleasant easy company and a great meal at the end of it! Our tour guide was Barry and he makes conversation easy.
Response from the operator: Hi there Thanks for trekking with us across the Great Wall and that you had an incredible experience. The sheer vastness and breathtaking views would had been spectacular and glad that the trip delievered to your expectations. Hope you can come and explore more of this country with us. Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Mini Group: Half-Day Chengdu Pandas Guided Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chengdu.
How much does Mini Group: Half-Day Chengdu Pandas Guided Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $58 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chengdu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mini Group: Half-Day Chengdu Pandas Guided Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chengdu is not rushed.
Is Mini Group: Half-Day Chengdu Pandas Guided Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chengdu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mini Group: Half-Day Chengdu Pandas Guided Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mini Group: Half-Day Chengdu Pandas Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mini Group: Half-Day Chengdu Pandas Guided Tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chengdu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chengdu and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mini Group: Half-Day Chengdu Pandas Guided Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chengdu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Chengdu?
+
On Outty we rank every Chengdu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chengdu Cooking Class with a Local Market Visit, Private Chengdu Day Tour: Giant Pandas and Jinsha Site Museum, Tuktuk Food Tour Through Chengdu's Local Eats. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Chengdu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chengdu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
