Best Tours & Guide in Ecuador!

This was the first of three amazing tours with Andres! . We spent the day exploring the Mindo cloud forest customized to our interests. The day started with a coffee experience where we got to learn the process of growing and roasting coffee, we got to prepare, roast, and grind our own coffee beans for an excellent cup or coffee. Next we took an open air cable car to see breath taking views of the lush landscape. We then had lunch at a local diner followed by a chocolate tour and tasting. We ended the day with admiring butterflies and humming birds, before making drive back to Quito. Andres was an excellent guide, who did an excellent job customizing our private tour. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun to talk to. He helped us to have another excellent day in Ecuador seeing more of the natural beauty the country has to offer.

Response from the operator: Hi guys, thanks for the amazing review! It was great meeting you both and we had a blast in the cloud forest. Hope to see you back soon. Cheers!

Three for one

This was a fun day trip. It was three events all in one day. We left super early since it takes a few hours to get there. The butterflies were wonderful. Picking them up and learning more about them. Then we went to the cable cars. I was hoping to hike around but it started to pour. So the only waterfalls we got to see was on the drive there. The cable car was nice to be in the clouds and see things from that vantage point. Then lunch at a local restaurant. it was a large meal where the beer was the same price as the water. This was followed by the Chocolate tour. We learned how it was made from bean to bar. We got to taste a dozen different favours including raw beans fresh from the fruit. Then the drive back. It was a long but good day. We saw so much. Our guide that day spoke some english and we made it work and joked at lunch. We even saw the clean up of a mud slide and got stuck in traffic for it.

Response from the operator: Hi Meg, thanks for the wonderful review! I'm so happy you had a great time in Mindo with Diego. Even though the weather was not perfect I see you had a great day with the butterflies, the cloudforest and the chocolate tasting. Cheers!

Response from the operator: Hi guys, the Mindo Tour was awesome! We had so much fun even with the "short" trek to the waterfall. Great day, great fun and great company. 👍

This Place was Humming!!!!

What an amazing day!! The drive was beautiful and you can choose how you would like to spend the day. We opted for a visit to a local home to see hummingbirds of various sizes and colors - definitely more exotic than what we see in California. We went to another home to see birds native to the area. Such bright, beautiful colors. We then chose to go zip lining- $8.00 for 3 lines was an amazing deal and the views did not disappoint. We hiked to a waterfall, had a delicious lunch in a small town and headed home - truly a great experience!! Do take cash, small bills are preferred.

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for your review. I'm so happy you enjoyed the Mindo Cloud Forest Tour. Mindo is definitely one of my favorite city escapes. I always find something new to do there and it's a great place to relax and chill. Cheers! Andres

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
