Excellent tour

There was some confusion about our booking. They were very apologetic and gave us a private tour. The hummingbirds was the best part. It will cost a total of40 dollars in entry fees for hummingbirds, butterfly farm, sky lift and chocolate tasting. It was well worth it. Eric was a great tour guide

Do Not Book With This Company

I waited at the meeting point for an hour and nobody ever came to pick me up. I tried calling the office and couldn't get anybody to talk to me.

Not as advertized!

We reserved this tour based on the focus of its title. Since the actual focus turned out to be zip-lining we spent a lot of time waiting. We have no difficulty with your organizing a tour focused on young people’s activities, but then title it according to its focus. We thought with the title that the focus was on the cloud forest and bird-watching which turned out to be a minor part of the day. We still enjoyed the day and don’t regret our decision to take this tour. We do want to complement our driver for giving as an excellent drive through very beautiful countryside. He operated the bus very responsibly and smoothly through challenging conditions.

Zero starts since I never got the tour

Directions to the pick up were erroneous. Was sent on a wild goose chase. Never went on the tour. Repeated attempts to communicate with the tour provider have resulted in no resolution. I'll happily amend this review if they get in touch with me. But for now, if you get told of a pick up point, ask your hotel for directions. Don't trust the info from Viator or the provider.

Mindo day trip with chocolate local enterprise

We had the Mindo full day tour from Quito with David Sánchez. The whole day was enjoyable and David is an experienced, knowledgeable tour guide. And he is extremely kind and thoughtful guy, one of my friend got car sick so he took care of her and made sure if she was okay for a whole day. We really appreciate him. We learned so much about flora and fauna of Ecuador. My favorite parts were visiting the hummingbird sanctuary and Mindo chocolate local enterprise. We tasted the mixture of different flavor and percentage of chocolates. Making chocolate from cacao was so much fun. David took so much pictures and video and shared with us. He’s really good at this.

Mindo Cloudforest and Birdwatching from Quito BY ECUADORTREASURE: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quito.

How much does Mindo Cloudforest and Birdwatching from Quito BY ECUADORTREASURE cost?

+

Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quito usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mindo Cloudforest and Birdwatching from Quito BY ECUADORTREASURE take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quito is not rushed.

Is Mindo Cloudforest and Birdwatching from Quito BY ECUADORTREASURE worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quito, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mindo Cloudforest and Birdwatching from Quito BY ECUADORTREASURE?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mindo Cloudforest and Birdwatching from Quito BY ECUADORTREASURE suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Mindo Cloudforest and Birdwatching from Quito BY ECUADORTREASURE?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quito can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quito and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mindo Cloudforest and Birdwatching from Quito BY ECUADORTREASURE start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quito within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Quito?

+

On Outty we rank every Quito experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cotopaxi tour from Quito -horseback ride and hike-NO TOURISTY way, Baños Full Day Tour from Quito Including Entrances and Activities, Gastronomic and Cultural Walking Tour of Quito with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Quito?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Quito?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
