    About this experience

A great exploratory combination of coffee and history. Italy is well known around the world for espresso but there are many different ways we make coffee and enjoy it. Milan is the only city where you can try the northern and southern Italian Coffee. Born & raised in Napoli, our espresso is World Heritage - I live and breathe coffee! so I can’t wait to share with you the history and curiosities about coffee in Italy and what makes Milan one of the most important cities for the invention of the espresso! During the tour we will stop at several coffee places and we will discover the history of the highlights of this beautiful city. In the price I have included a coffee and a free coffee tasting at another one of my favourites coffee spots, but feel free to try more along the way. Great for solo travelers, families, groups and for people who want to discover the city with a local.

    For any coffee lover

I absolutely loved every minute of this tour. Maria truly made the experience—her passion for coffee and its history really shines through in everything she does. What made the tour so special were the unique coffee stops along the way. I got to try some incredible coffees that I never would have discovered on my own, and each one was thoughtfully chosen. Maria was also incredibly friendly and kind, creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout. I would highly recommend going on her tour—it’s a fantastic experience for any coffee lover!

    Milan's Hidden Aroma

The last thing you’d associate with Milan is coffee: you think luxury, fashion, design. Maria completely changed that for me. Every iconic landmark I’d heard of became the backdrop for this walk through history, art, and authentic Italian coffee culture. This wasn’t just a perfect introduction to Milan, but it also took me straight to the heart of the connection between Northern and Southern Italy, with coffee as the unexpected common denominator. If you want to feel it, you just have to taste it. Maria is knowledgeable and genuinely funny, and she will help make your stay in Milan unforgettable. You don’t want to miss this!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An unforgettable Milan experience — highly recommended!

We had an amazing time in Milan during our team-building trip, and the city and coffee tour with Maria was an absolute highlight! Maria is full of passion and knowledge — she brought Milan’s history and landmarks to life with fascinating stories and fun facts that even those of us who had visited Milan before had never heard. And the coffee… wow! We tasted so many fantastic varieties at some of the city’s best spots. It was a true sensory experience and a great way to explore Milan through its coffee culture. Maria is also such a warm, friendly person who made us feel very welcome and made the whole tour a joy from start to finish. This was one of the most memorable moments of our trip — we highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Milan. Thank you again, Maria!

Response from the operator: It' been a pleasure meeting you! This is the best review ever. Thank you so much!

Milan Coffee & History Crawl with a Licensed Tour Guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Milan.

How much does Milan Coffee & History Crawl with a Licensed Tour Guide cost?

    +

Prices start at $83 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Milan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Milan Coffee & History Crawl with a Licensed Tour Guide take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Milan is not rushed.

Is Milan Coffee & History Crawl with a Licensed Tour Guide worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Milan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Milan Coffee & History Crawl with a Licensed Tour Guide?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Milan Coffee & History Crawl with a Licensed Tour Guide suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Milan Coffee & History Crawl with a Licensed Tour Guide?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Milan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Milan and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Milan Coffee & History Crawl with a Licensed Tour Guide start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Milan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Milan?

    +

On Outty we rank every Milan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gnocchi, Pasta, Tiramisù and Wine Class, Authentic Pasta & Tiramisu Cooking Class in Milan, Milan's Hidden Gems: Unique Bike Tour (ENG, NL). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Milan?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Milan?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
