Meteora
This was a fantastic experience. Every person we worked with: tour coordinator, tour guide, bus drivers were professional, friendly, and knowledgeable! This tour gave us the opportunity to see a place we wanted to see without driving from Athens and back in one day. I would highly recommend taking this tour. It was definitely worth it!

Two thumbs up
It was a great day all around, we were a little worried about so much time on the bus but it was comfortable and the time flew by. The Monasteries we're unbelievable and our guide Freideriki was spot on and very professional. Would definitely reccomend it

Worth the bus ride from Athens
Worth the bus ride from Athens. About 5 hours long with a rest stop on the way. Bring a book. We visited a couple monasteries and had great views of the rest. Our guide provided good background and history. I found a wide range of prices for the tours. I skipped the prepaid lunch & you can buy want you want at the rest or lunch stop.

An unforgettable experience
We visited Meteora yesterday and it was absolutely breathtaking. The landscapes are stunning, but what made this day truly special was the incredible team. Our tour guide, Frederiki, was amazing. She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and shared so many fascinating insights about the history and culture of the monasteries.A big thank you as well to our drivers,.They were professional, very friendly, and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire journey. They even gave each of us a bottle of water and shared the absolute best spots for taking photos.Everything was perfect from start to finish. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Greece!

Great tour guide
Riki is a great tour guide! Had a blast! Character minimums are dumb in reviews that I don’t even have to give!

Why this scores 90
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Meteora Day Trip with central Pick up & optional Lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Meteora Day Trip with central Pick up & optional Lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $66 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Meteora Day Trip with central Pick up & optional Lunch take?
+
Plan for about 13.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Meteora Day Trip with central Pick up & optional Lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 90 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 768 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.
Can I cancel or reschedule Meteora Day Trip with central Pick up & optional Lunch?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Meteora Day Trip with central Pick up & optional Lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 13.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Meteora Day Trip with central Pick up & optional Lunch?
+
Around 269 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 13.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Meteora Day Trip with central Pick up & optional Lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
