Unforgettable trip that showcases Morocco’s diverse landscapes

What an unforgettable trip! And it’s a great way to see a very large and diverse area of Morocco in just a few days. Bustling city streets to snowy mountain peaks to moonlit desert dunes all in just 3 days. Everything was very, very well organized and all guides were always punctual. The organization was very impressive! Ibrahim was a fantastic driver and did a great job explaining the timeline and itinerary to us. We always felt safe in his hands. His English was good and the instructions for the meeting point were clear. The shuttle van was an 18 passenger and was comfy enough for the 15 of us. They were very good about baggage transport, but I would still recommend the smallest bag you can get away with. I would also recommend to bring in the van headphones, a pillow and warm clothes in the winter. Ibrahim was great about stopping often to make sure we were fed and able to use the restroom. The lodging for both nights was comfortable, and we really enjoyed the desert camp. But in the winter, make sure you dress warmly! The highest elevation in the pass is up to 2.200 meters so the van can get cold and the tent in the desert is lower elevation but still quite chilly without heating. They do provide good blankets but jacket, hat and gloves are a must around camp. Also I recommend dark color shoes because you will probably get them quite sandy and muddy. All meals were delicious, and we never felt hungry! Almost every place offered good vegetarian options (vegetable couscous and tangine) when we asked. Most places accepted credit card, but I still recommend bringing about 2.000 MAD in cash to pay for lunch and souvenirs and tips. We appreciated that they offer the option to do quad instead of camel rides. While the camels didn’t seem to be treated terribly, it was still very evident that they are animals exploited for selfish tourists like us to take selfies. I would urge people to enjoy taking pictures with them but then opt to take the quads to camp instead. Also highly recommend this tour because it allows you to start in Marrakech and end in Fez, so it’s a great option for traveling between cities while seeing a lot. But If you are going in winter, stay flexible with your expectations. The passes can get quite snowy and close, so you may need to take an alternate route and not see everything you were expecting. All in all, a great trip that gave us unforgettable memories.

Very good experience

The trip was wonderful and everything went according to plan. All guides took great care of us and we felt safe the whole time. Ibrahim was a great driver, who judged well how fast to go on different routes and where it was possible to overtake cars. The stops for coffee/toilet come pretty often so there is no stress regarding that. Just be prepared to spend a lot of time inside the minibus, because the drive is across half of Morocco and back.

3 days trip

A solid 3-day trip from Marrakesh to the Sahara. Long hours in the van, but the desert scenery and camel ride made it worthwhile. The night in the tent was comfortable, and the camp was well prepared. A good way to experience southern Morocco beyond the cities.

MERZOUGA DESERT TREK - 3 DAYS From Marrakech: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does MERZOUGA DESERT TREK - 3 DAYS From Marrakech cost?

+

Prices start at $130 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does MERZOUGA DESERT TREK - 3 DAYS From Marrakech take?

+

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is MERZOUGA DESERT TREK - 3 DAYS From Marrakech worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 57 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule MERZOUGA DESERT TREK - 3 DAYS From Marrakech?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is MERZOUGA DESERT TREK - 3 DAYS From Marrakech suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 2. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 72-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book MERZOUGA DESERT TREK - 3 DAYS From Marrakech?

+

Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does MERZOUGA DESERT TREK - 3 DAYS From Marrakech start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
