3 day Marrakech Dessert

My family and I had an absolute amazing trip from Marrakech to the desert and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the start, Discover Morrocco Tours communication was outstanding, every question was answered quickly and thoroughly, and they were incredibly accommodating in tailoring the itinerary to our needs as a family. Our guide Abdul made the trip unforgettable. He was extremely knowledgeable about the region, culture, and history, and always happy to share insights along the way. Beyond that, he was warm, friendly, and attentive, making sure we were comfortable at all times. Most importantly, we felt completely safe and well taken care of throughout the entire journey. Everything was well organized, smooth, and stress-free, allowing us to fully enjoy the stunning landscapes and unique desert experience. Highly recommend this trip and company to anyone looking for a memorable and seamless desert adventure from Marrakech

Best Driver: Abdul for 3-day Moroccan Journey

As a travel professional, I know a guide can make or break a trip. Our driver, Abdul, with Discovery Morocco Tours MADE it. An extraordinary you man-- deeply respectful, honest and clearly raised well-- Abdul was a serendipitous fit for my family of 4. Sophisticated and with an open-minded world view, he was able to put country and culture into a perspective that we could appreciated. He has an inherently thoughtful inclination towards social justice issues. Morocco's terrain demands respect, and a 3-day desert loop is a serious undertaking withy 8+ hours behind the wheel each day. Abdul handled it with total focus, navigating paved and unpaved roads and mountain switchbacks flawlessly. His vehicle was a welcome sanctuary: extremely roomy, comfortable, and immaculately clean, despite the swirling desert dust outside. Abdul had a natural, intuitive gift for reading the room—knowing when to grant us comfortable silence to rest, and when to step in with relevant insights. Because of the custom where we come from, we invited him to join us for all of our meals, and his authentic companionship profoundly enriched our family's experience. Spontaneous Connections & Highlights Our adventure was frequently elevated by Abdul’s deep local roots. One of the attached pictures is from near the end of our first day, where Abdul pulled over to greet a nomadic young friend of his, Jamal, and his intrepid 1-year-old camel, Marco. Our trip was frequently enriched by these genuine, spontaneous moments where Abdul stopped simply to greet people he knew along the road. He had an impeccable knack for finding amazing espresso machine-cars in the middle of nowhere for afternoon pick-me-ups. The itinerary he navigated for us was packed with incredible moments: Day 1: Exploring the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah gave us a great chance to stretch our legs, and the local lunch there was one of my family's favorites. We also stopped briefly to see the Atlas Film Studios from the outside... inside didn't seem worth the necessary investment of time. Pushing into the Merzouga desert was unforgettable. The colors of the Erg Chebbi dunes were mesmerizing, and the peak of the trip was the 1-hour camel trek through the dunes to our desert camp for an evening around the campfire. DEFINITELY, go for the a/c if going in June or anytime outside of Winter. A very close second favorite was the drive through the High Atlas mountains on our final day back to Marrakech. Even though it meant grinding out 10 hours in the car, Abdul's driving made the time fly, and the dramatic views easily rivaled anything I have seen in the glacier-areas of Europe or the Rockies in the United States. Behind the Scenes & Verdict The seamless execution of this trip began during the planning phase, which my wife coordinated entirely with Rachid. Among several competing agencies, Rachid won us over with his immense patience, knowledge, and clarity in answering her many questions. From Rachid’s coordination and the excellent accommodations (Luxury Riad Dades and Azawad Luxury Camp) to Abdul’s superb execution on the ground, every detail delivered. If you are planning a trip to Morocco, do yourself a huge favor: book with Discovery Morocco Tours and explicitly ask for Abdul.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your wonderful review and for choosing Discover Morocco Tours. We are so happy to hear that you and your family enjoyed your 3-day desert tour with Abdul. He will be very pleased to read your kind words. Abdul always does his best to make our guests feel comfortable, safe, and welcome while sharing the beauty and culture of Morocco. It is great to know that you enjoyed the camel trek in Merzouga, the visit to Ait Ben Haddou, the High Atlas Mountains, and the special moments you experienced along the way. We also appreciate your kind comments about the planning process. I am glad I was able to help make everything easy and smooth for your family. Thank you again for your trust and recommendation. It was a pleasure helping you plan your Morocco trip, and we hope to welcome you and your family back for another amazing adventure in the future. Best regards, Rachid Discover Morocco Tours

Amazing Merzouga Desert tour with camel trek and desert camping led by Abdullah

This tour was easily the highlight of our entire trip to Morocco. It was well planned, with plenty of stops on longer driving days and an incredible time in the Merzouga desert. Every detail was planned for us so we didn’t have to worry about anything but enjoying ourselves. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, our accommodations were beautiful (even in the desert!), the stops for photos and sight seeing were well thought out, and we got to have so many unique experiences in just a few days! Our guide, Abdullah, was the highlight of the experience. His knowledge of the area and desire to share his culture with us provided a unique and amazing trip. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Morocco and would do it again myself in a heartbeat.

Authentic desert experience

What a fabulous trip! Abdul, our private driver, picked us up directly at our hotel and gave us 3 very full days of adventure! We had a private tour of Ait Ben Houdda walking all the way up to the top of the Kasbah, saw stunning gorges, stopped at several places going through the Atlas Mountains to get great photos and pick up some souvenirs of Morroco. My husband even learned how to play the bongo - sort of😉 and got a kiss from a camel! The experience of a lifetime was riding camels into the desert to a luxury tented camp, having a traditional Moroccan dinner complete with a campfire and local music, and riding the camels back through the dunes in the morning. The trip back to Marrakech turned out to be something no one could have predicted. The road through the mountains closed due to snow as we made our way so Abdul and Rachid made the wise decision to take us all the way around the south end of the mountains (an extra 8 hours!) to get us back to Marrakech in time for our flight. They really went above and beyond to make sure we were safe. We will definitely go back to Morroco to explore more of the country and will make sure we have Abdul as our escort.

Response from the operator: Hello Helen, Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re so happy to hear you had a wonderful time in Morocco. Abdul always does his best to make sure everything goes smoothly and safely, even when unexpected things happen. We’re glad you enjoyed the desert, the camel ride, and all the amazing experiences Morocco has to offer. We can’t wait to welcome you back for more adventures! Safe travels! Kind regards, Rachid

Merzouga Desert 3 Days 2 Nights Tour From Marrakech: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does Merzouga Desert 3 Days 2 Nights Tour From Marrakech cost?

+

Prices start at $250 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Merzouga Desert 3 Days 2 Nights Tour From Marrakech take?

+

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is Merzouga Desert 3 Days 2 Nights Tour From Marrakech worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 66 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Merzouga Desert 3 Days 2 Nights Tour From Marrakech?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Merzouga Desert 3 Days 2 Nights Tour From Marrakech suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Merzouga Desert 3 Days 2 Nights Tour From Marrakech?

+

Around 23 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Merzouga Desert 3 Days 2 Nights Tour From Marrakech start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
