Good hike, but not as described in the ad
The guide is very nice and the hike was enjoyable, but this is being advertised as a 4-5 hour experience and I was brought back 2.5 h later.

Wonderful Fall Adventure!
This was wonderful! My husband and I were lucky enough to have beautiful weather for our hike. Petra picked us up and drove us to the start of the public trail. Along the drive, she shared a lot of local history and suggestions for our time in Zagreb. Petra is a Zagreb local, and very knowledgeable about the city and many different trails in the hills surrounding the city. We started on the main trail and quickly moved onto to quite paths deep in the woods and moved onto Petra's private land covered in chestnut trees. Petra taught us what to look for and how to spot a bad nut! We were able to full bag to take home. She shared the proper techniques for both roasting and boiling the chestnuts at home. Petra also taught us about local plants all along our hike. I can't recommend this enough. There are a few steep sections of the trail, but this is a great adventure for adults or families, and Petra is happy to take it at your pace. It was a wonderful day and Petra was an amazing guide. We're looking forward to working with Petra again for our next visit. She organizes all kind of hikes and experiences around Croatia.

Absolutely outstanding Fall experience minutes from central Zagreb
Absolutely wonderful guided hike and experience. My wife and I were picked up outside our Airbnb and driven by the guide approximately 20 minutes outside of town to the beautiful Medvednica Hiking area that overlooks the city. First 20-30 minutes of hiking was up a beautiful common trail but the guide quickly took us "off piste" to through more remote trail to hike to her family chestnut tree farm, which is on the mountain/wilderness area. Hike from primary trail to family plot includes wonderful views overlooking Zagreb and the surrounding hillside. Truly incredible escape from the city walking among the Fall changing of the leaves. Only people we came across for several hours of tramping/chestnut picking were a few local mushroom pickers. Guide provides explanation on picking and then preparing chestnuts the when you get home. I can't recommend this 1/2 day escape enough! Guide provide wonderful insights on wild herbs growing in the area and provided us with a few surprises that I won't ruin by elaborating upon here. Guide drove us back to our airbnb by early afternoon.

Nice and relaxing hike in Zagreb
Medvednica is just less than 30 minutes drive from the city centre. The hiking trail is beautiful with lots of trees. It was not chestnuts season but still there were lots of berries along the trail. Petra, our guide, was a wonderful person, she thoughtfully prepared us chesses and snacks and told us a lot about the nature and the country. To sum up, it is a great idea to spend half a day to explore the countryside of Zagreb.

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Medvednica Hiking and Chestnuts Picking Tour from Zagreb: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zagreb.
How much does Medvednica Hiking and Chestnuts Picking Tour from Zagreb cost?
+
Prices start at $94 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zagreb usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Medvednica Hiking and Chestnuts Picking Tour from Zagreb take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zagreb is not rushed.
Is Medvednica Hiking and Chestnuts Picking Tour from Zagreb worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zagreb, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Medvednica Hiking and Chestnuts Picking Tour from Zagreb?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Medvednica Hiking and Chestnuts Picking Tour from Zagreb suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Medvednica Hiking and Chestnuts Picking Tour from Zagreb?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zagreb can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zagreb and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Medvednica Hiking and Chestnuts Picking Tour from Zagreb start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zagreb within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Zagreb?
+
On Outty we rank every Zagreb experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Communism & Croatian Homeland War Tour, Zagreb Highlights: Old Town, WWII tunnels, Funicular & Tastings, Old Zagreb Private Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Zagreb?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Zagreb?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
