    An Authentic Experience

Braulio was a fantastic guide. He was thorough with his information, passionate about the culture, personable and allowed us to see so many different sides of Medellin that it’s hard to imagine a better value for an experience like this. At no time did this feel like typical uninspired sight seeing, it felt like an adventure that I won’t soon forget.

    Tour guide a no show

Not only did he not show up by he was apparently in the Hostel where we were supposed to meet and he sent an employee out to tell us he wasn’t taking us because not enough people signed up. It was a twenty minute walk to get there, so a call or at least coming out in person would have been appreciated.

Response from the operator: Hello Mery Campo, We are very sorry, we have a min bookings policy established, in order to enjoy this great tour you must double check availability right after booking via text message. We also apologize for the miscommunication with the hostal employee because that was nor his job nor the true reason for the cancellation. Please go check our reviews and let us ammend this communication mistake if you wish. Braulio Owner Onygotours Colombia

Wish I had done this sooner!

After a couple weeks of living and working in Medellin, I felt a little trapped in my fancy, fun and very touristy neighborhood. And then I found Onygotours and Braulio opened Medellin up to me giving me accessibility through the metro system, an ironic reversal of how the metro has changed the lives of Paisas in disadvantaged neighborhoods ultimately “transforming” Medellin. Braulio has a wonderfully wide breadth of knowledge, everything from social and political to economics and history. More importantly, he is open and honest in a natural conversational way not a rehearsed tour guide script. This tour is a must-do!

Response from the operator: Hola, Shawna, we were more than glad to take you first on your own and with your friends afterwards. We felt your honest interest in discovering one of the cities you are calling home during your remote year. Thanks again and see you soon again, Braulio Ramirez

    Fantastic tour

Went on this tour with a small group this week to start off my experience of medillin. This was a fantastic way of getting to know the city. The tour guide is extremely well versed in the history of the city and socio-political issues of this area and gave a great overview of this. He was able to answer all random questions asked and was also a good laugh! He took us to some local markets where he knew lots of the vendors and we tried interesting fruits and local specialities. Very relaxed and educational tour. 5 stars- get on it!

Response from the operator: Hey Sal. We appreciate a lot the fact of having an honest and smooth conversation with our guests. Specially because we try to have you looking at Medellin through our eyes. Your words motivate us to do better. Cheers and come back soon ! Daniela

Medellin: Mémoire et Transformation - Une Visite Authentique: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Medellín.

How much does Medellin: Mémoire et Transformation - Une Visite Authentique cost?

    +

Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Medellín usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Medellin: Mémoire et Transformation - Une Visite Authentique take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Medellín is not rushed.

Is Medellin: Mémoire et Transformation - Une Visite Authentique worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Medellín, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Medellin: Mémoire et Transformation - Une Visite Authentique?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Medellin: Mémoire et Transformation - Une Visite Authentique suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Medellin: Mémoire et Transformation - Une Visite Authentique?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Medellín can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Medellín and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Medellin: Mémoire et Transformation - Une Visite Authentique start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Medellín within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Medellín?

    +

On Outty we rank every Medellín experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guatapé Tour: Piedra del Peñol with Boat Tour, Breakfast, Lunch, Half Day Bike Tour in Medellin - Local snack, Coffee or Beer, Guided Tour of Comuna 13 Medellín with Snacks Included. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Medellín?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Medellín?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
