    A lasting memory

This was an unexpected delight. My host Chirath took me to a small wood carving community. I saw a huge elephant being carved from a single piece of wood and other pieces finished in fine detail. I chose to paint a small elephant and the craftsman Deshan patiently showed me the different steps involved. I was the only Western guest that day so I was able to immerse myself in the silence and peace of the little outdoor workshop. It was a very genuine and authentic experience, and a wonderful last memory of Galle. Much gratitude to Chirath and Deshan.

Response from the operator: (J36578U05) Thank you so much for your heartfelt review! We're thrilled that you had such a memorable and authentic experience in Galle. It's wonderful to hear that Chirath and Deshan made your visit so special. Your description of the peaceful workshop and the intricate wood carving process truly captures the essence of this unique experience. We're grateful for your kind words and look forward to welcoming you back for more unforgettable moments in Sri Lanka. Safe travels and much gratitude from all of us!
