    A great day out

Great way to experience the drive to Mt. Teide in the Cabrio bus . If you want to do the cable car ride make sure you book that as an extra . Our guide Juan was excellent and made the trip fun and answered any other questions we had . Our driver Manuel skilfully negotiated the narrow winding roads which can be busy with traffic , especially tourists in hire cars ! Would definitely recommend this tour , such beautiful scenery and fantastic views from the bus .

    Could have been better

Our tour was rescheduled to 14 July as 13 July was already sold out. The bus was comfortable, and the locations we visited were undeniably beautiful. However, the overall experience could have been much better, especially in terms of how the tour was conducted. Unfortunately, our guide appeared quite disengaged throughout the day. While he was clearly fluent in multiple languages, his commentary was delivered in a continuous, flat monotone. It was difficult to follow along, especially waiting to catch the English portions. Surprisingly, it was the driver who provided more engaging and informative explanations at the various stopover points. Whenever we had questions, it was the driver who took the time to offer detailed answers and background information—something we expected from the guide. At one point, we were taken to a shop where various local liqueurs, breads, and sauces were laid out for tasting. However, there was no effort made to explain what we were sampling. The guide simply wandered off to chat with the shop assistant, missing a good opportunity to educate and engage with the group. A particularly frustrating part of the day was at El Teide. While some members of our group had cable car tickets and went ahead with that, the rest of us were given a pick-up time and waited in the sun as instructed. The bus, however, arrived over 30 minutes late. What was most disappointing wasn’t the delay itself, but the lack of communication. When we asked the guide about the delay, he became defensive and dismissive, saying the cable car timings weren't his responsibility and we should contact the company if we had complaints. A simple heads-up beforehand that delays are possible due to the nature of the cable car schedule would have gone a long way in managing expectations and avoiding frustration. These things do happen sometimes and all of us understand that and this is where some professionalism goes a long way in managing situations. If not for the driver’s helpfulness and guidance, I would have rated the tour just one star.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your experience didn’t fully meet your expectations. We’re glad to know that you found the bus comfortable and the locations beautiful, and especially that our driver made a positive impression with his helpfulness and informative guidance. That said, we take your comments regarding the guide very seriously. We sincerely apologize if the delivery of the commentary felt disengaged or difficult to follow. Our goal is always to provide a well-rounded, engaging experience in all languages, and it’s clear we fell short during your tour. We also regret the lack of explanation during the tasting stop and the poor communication during the delay at El Teide. You’re absolutely right—clear and proactive communication can make a big difference, and we will be addressing this with our team to ensure improvements are made. Your feedback is invaluable and helps us grow. We appreciate you pointing out both the positives and the areas where we can do better. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future and provide the experience you truly deserve. Warm regards, ISLAND EXCURSIONS

    Organisation could have been better

I chose this tour for the smaller bus, open-top, and itinerary to include Masca and Teide, potentially including the volcano cable car. So product design is good! And the guide was certainly knowledgeable, and the price more accessible than many. My excursion day followed a bad wind storm so the cable car wasn't running - disappointing but saftey first, understandabelle. I'm not sure if this was the reason the roof wasn't open as I didn't hear an explanation. The real downside was the organisation. My tour was cancelled by the company the day before, I don't know why. Perhaps mistake, they asked me to rebook, but I wasn't able to rebook that day, nor the date they then suggested, but only a date 2 weeks later. I was assured on pick up place and time. But the next morning after waiting 5 mins past my pickup time with no bus in sight, I wasn't feeling confident so messaged the company. They told me I wasn't there at the pickup time given - I was, but it turned out they had given me the wrong time. As a result, they sent the boss out in his car to pick me up, & catch up with the bus at a motorway slip road abd making me look the dunce that missed the bus when i got on . That said, I'm glad I called when I did because leaving it longer could have been more of a problem, and of course I was satisfied with the solution to have the excursion day as planned. But I imagine it could have been a total write off for me otherwise, on the only day I could do it, seemingly because the company cancelled my place, & asked me to rebook a later date. Final thing, I personally dislike guides/drivers smoking by the bus door, albeit outside. It looks so ugly to the company.

Great day - you cover a lot of ground!

Excellent trip - lots of driving but the convertible bus makes the travel more fun, plus you can still bask in the sun. It’s also an early start (we were picked up at 8:45am) but well worth it as you get to the amazing Masca before the crowds descend. We paid extra for the cable car (90 euros in cash on the bus) which was brilliant. We were very lucky to have a super clear day with no clouds. If you don’t do this, you have to wait at a different stop near the cable car station for a couple of hours. If the weather turns, or when driving at speed, the clear roof is pulled back so visibility is still great but it’s much warmer. Seeing the landscape around Mount Teide is a must-see, and really makes you appreciate Tenerife in a different light. There’s one stop at a shop but there’s no pressure to buy anything. The day is quite full on but good fun. If we were doing it again, I’d pack some food and a light lunch. We bought food at the cable car stop (not cheap but also not a crazy rip off) but there wasn’t much time to fit that in. Overall it was great, book it!

Masca Teide Full Day Panoramic Bus Cabrio from South: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tenerife.

How much does Masca Teide Full Day Panoramic Bus Cabrio from South cost?

    +

Prices start at $81 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tenerife usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Masca Teide Full Day Panoramic Bus Cabrio from South take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tenerife is not rushed.

Is Masca Teide Full Day Panoramic Bus Cabrio from South worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tenerife, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Masca Teide Full Day Panoramic Bus Cabrio from South?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Masca Teide Full Day Panoramic Bus Cabrio from South suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Masca Teide Full Day Panoramic Bus Cabrio from South?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tenerife can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tenerife and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Masca Teide Full Day Panoramic Bus Cabrio from South start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tenerife within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tenerife?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tenerife experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale watching & listening Eco-Catamaran Tour with Snacks &Drinks, Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife, 3-hour Whale and Dolphin Watching and Listening Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tenerife?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tenerife?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
