    About this experience

Check out Sydney's multicultural Inner West, on Dave’s Sydney Food Tour, The Marrickville Munch! Our bite seeing walking tour will take you through some of our neighbourhood’s most famous eats, plus a few surprises we wanna 'keep under the cloche'! We’ll start at an iconic family run deli for a coffee and taste of house made cheeses along with Aussie olives and meats, the kangaroo salami, yum!. Next, we match some Marrickville icons with a Banh Mi Vietnamese pork roll and brewery fresh beer from a local indy brewery. We'll fill you up with some more cheese and some Aussie classics from our mate’s bakery for you to ‘wrap your laughing gear around’ ,that’s an old Aussie term for eating. The sweet sweet finish is some house made gelato and crazy chocolate creations at our favourite 'serial chillers’ headquarters. At the tour's end, we can roll you back to the train station, or you can continue on and share some beers and spirits in Australia’s Craft Beer Capital!

    Excellent food tour

Really enjoyed this foodie tour of Marrickville. We wanted to get out of the city center and experience something a little different. This place is very diverse and has very interesting art and history. Dave, our tour guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable. Skip breakfast and wear your stretchy pants! We had a great sampling of a lot of foods: Vietnamese bahn mi, lamington cake, local beer, sausage and fennel roll, Italian cheese, shrimp toast, ice cream — we are stuffed! Dave was easy to talk to and answered many of our questions. We will sign up for another tour with this operator on our next visit.

    Great guide and great food.

It was a great experience. Dave was a wonderful guide and gave us some history of the area and the food. The walk was enjoyable although a little warm. My wife and I are not fond of raw fish so Dave came up with an alternative stop that had cooked prawns as an option. Dave explained each stop and listened to our preferences. We had a great time and would defiantly recommend this tour.

    Casual Tour with Great Food

Excellent causal walking tour outside of downtown Sydney. Terrific food stops from Asian to Italian followed by tasty brews at a local brewery. Two dessert stops were also included along the way. We were definitely full at the end. Our guide Dave was very informative, polite and personable.

Response from the operator: Thanks for the great review and for joining our Marrickville Munch food tour. A solid mix of great food, good brews and two desserts is hard to argue with, and we’re glad you finished the tour happily full. Dave will be pleased to hear the feedback. Thanks for taking the time to share it and for touring with us. The Dave’s

Marrickville Munch A Sydney Food Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sydney.

How much does Marrickville Munch A Sydney Food Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sydney usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Marrickville Munch A Sydney Food Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sydney is not rushed.

Is Marrickville Munch A Sydney Food Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sydney, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Marrickville Munch A Sydney Food Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Marrickville Munch A Sydney Food Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Marrickville Munch A Sydney Food Tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sydney can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sydney and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Marrickville Munch A Sydney Food Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sydney within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sydney?

    +

On Outty we rank every Sydney experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive, Depart Syd: Blue Mountains Best All Inclusive with Local Guide, Blue Mountain Small Group Tour All Inclusive. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sydney?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sydney?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
