Great cultural trip into the Sahara

Excellent trip through Morocco and into the Sahara. We were picked up early in the morning of the first day from a pick up point close to our Airbnb in central Marrakesh and travelled up through the mountains to our first few stops. In each spot you get a local guide or someone to explain the activity to you a there are also plenty of opportunities to buy souvenirs along the way. On the first day the only provided meal is dinner - lunch is an additional cost (and this is the case throughout). On the first night we stayed in a guest house with a private room with an en suite before setting off the second day for the desert. We also had breakfast before setting off. Again there are plenty of stops before getting to the dessert and travelling by camel to a camp in the Sahara. We were in the luxury camp with a private tent and room which was gorgeous. Again we got dinner and breakfast before setting off back on camels and making stops throughout the day before staying in the same guest house again. The last day was a travel day back to Marrakesh. Chaimae and Osama were excellent as guide and driver and helped us with communication as much as we needed throughout. I would advise to bring lots of cash - lunch is expensive and not included in the price of the tour. There is also a requirement to tip local guides, attendants in toilets and anyone else you work with. It’s also a good idea to bring snacks as you are in the van for chunks of the day. Overall really enjoyed it and would recommend.

A Truly Unforgettable Journey from Marrakech to Fez with Chaima! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Our trip from Marrakech to Fez was absolutely incredible, and we have our amazing guide Chaima and our driver Oussam to thank for that! From start to finish, everything was seamless, fun, and full of unforgettable moments. We spent our first night in a charming guest house surrounded by beautiful scenery and warm hospitality. On the second night, we rode camels about 45 minutes into the desert — an experience we’ll never forget! The desert camp was wonderful: toilets and showers, great food, a cozy campfire, and lively music under the stars. The star gazing was INCREDIBLE. Chaima made sure we were comfortable, safe, and well fed throughout the entire journey. She was lovely and quickly became a friend. We covered a lot of ground over two days, but Chaima’s energy, organization, and kindness made it all flow perfectly. 100% recommend this experience and Chaima as your guide — you’ll be in the best hands!

Don’t skip this trip!

Highly recommend this tour! We loved everything about it. First, our guide Chaima was amazing. She had such a fun energy and was so thoughtful and kind. I needed contact solution and she went out of her way to stop at several pharmacies to help me find some. The first night home stay was charming with great food and service. The highlight of the trip was the Sahara desert. It was freezing in November so be prepared for that! Can’t recommend this enough.

Amazing desert tour – totally recommend it! (especially our wonderful guide Shaima)

This trip was pure joy! So many things to see and experience – full of culture, local flavors, and breathtaking desert views. Every stop had something special, and the whole journey felt perfectly organized. Our guide Sheima was absolutely amazing – always smiling, full of knowledge and positive energy (almost perfect english), making everything fun and easy to understand. She really made the experience unforgettable! Also, big thanks to our driver Ousama, who was super kind, patient, and drove us safely everywhere. Highly recommended! 🌞🐫✨

Marrakesh to Fez 3-Day with Overnight Merzouga Desert Camping: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does Marrakesh to Fez 3-Day with Overnight Merzouga Desert Camping cost?

+

Prices start at $149 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Marrakesh to Fez 3-Day with Overnight Merzouga Desert Camping take?

+

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is Marrakesh to Fez 3-Day with Overnight Merzouga Desert Camping worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 97 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Marrakesh to Fez 3-Day with Overnight Merzouga Desert Camping?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Marrakesh to Fez 3-Day with Overnight Merzouga Desert Camping suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Marrakesh to Fez 3-Day with Overnight Merzouga Desert Camping?

+

Around 34 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Marrakesh to Fez 3-Day with Overnight Merzouga Desert Camping start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
