Simo is amazing
Our tour guide Simo was amazing! Throughout the journey, we had a sprinter van that made several stops for bathroom breaks and snacks. It also had AC and charging ports available. The journey was long but getting to the Sahara Desert was beyond worth it! I had the pleasure of doing both ATVs / Quads & Camel riding in a picture perfect setting.

Recommended 5/5
Absolutely amazing! This excursions worth every single penny and every minute spent on the road. Great landscapes, professional and jolly guide and good food! Full details review - JOURNEY/VAN: Don't expect a 5* Bus with toilet. Think more of a large Road Trip with friends you just met. The van in comfortable enough. Pick ups are scheduled according to your location around Marrakech. Enough space in the boots for a small suitace, but pack light! Van has USB charger port but might not work (so bring external battery). Get ready for many hours of "reckless" driving. Roads are small, many turns and sometimes not that smooth. It can get bumpy so make sure you pack some tables especially if you are car-sick! - GUIDE: Our Guide Chaimae was absolutely amazing! She gave us all important info before departure over Whatsapp. Once together, she made a Whatsapp group for the Van, giving us all communication and we shared all pictures. She created a great group of adventure. If you are a solo traveler or a couple or few friends doesn't matter: Chaimae made everyone feel welcome and enjoy the experience. She turned our experience memorable and unforgettable through her positive energy and great hospitality. She was very accomodating, organizing all stops along the way, from toilet break to cashpoints! She taught us some Arabic and Berber which came very handy with locals. - EXCURSION: You'll be join by local guides at certain point. (Shout-out to Cous-Cous! He made the visit to Todgha Gorges and the village so much fun!) Don't be shy on leaving some tips (sometimes 20-50MAD makes a big difference and supports local communities). - ACCOMMODATION: First night in the hotel. Basic room with all essentials (towels, soap and bodygel provided). Second night in the desert. - LUXURY OPTION: It's only for the desert tent! Not the 1st night in the hotel. The luxury tent are big and isolated (just 2 mins walk from the rest). Toilet and shower are inside your tent (only separated by a halfwall without door) - just to say that is Private as you don't share it with other people, but it's not that private among your mate. But enough to have a shower and a night' wee without leaving the tent. During dinner you can use common toilet. Worth upgrading anyway - MEAL: All meals were very good. The guide brings you to specific places which are safe for tourists. We were very happy with the restaurants we stopped by, especially the one not included. Breakfasts are mostly sweet, coffee, tea and orange juice. Cake, jams and bread. Basic but filling and *re-fillable. - GENERAL ADVICES: Bring Cash! Lunch are not included (around 120-150MAD) Water usually costs 10-15MAD (sometimes might not be included in your meal). In the desert we rent the quad (500MAD), also left some tips to staff. Again, if you are running low on cash, tell your guide! We went beginning of april. Hot during the day but we had a jumper in the evening. We also had a light jacket for the quad ride in the morning.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review 🌟 We’re truly happy to hear that the journey was worth every minute and that the landscapes, food, and overall experience left such a strong impression. Your description of the trip as a road trip with friends you just met made us smile — that’s exactly the spirit we aim for on this adventure. We appreciate you setting realistic expectations about the drive and vehicle, and your practical tips will be very helpful for future travelers. A huge thank you for highlighting Chaimae 🙏 She will be absolutely proud to read your words. Creating a welcoming group atmosphere, keeping everyone informed, and sharing her knowledge and positive energy are qualities we value deeply, and we’re glad she made your experience so memorable. We’ll also pass along your kind words to our wonderful local guides — especially Cous-Cous! We’re glad you enjoyed both nights of accommodation and that the luxury desert tent upgrade met your expectations. Thank you as well for explaining it so clearly for future guests — transparency is very important to us. Your advice about bringing cash, seasonal clothing, and optional activities like the quad ride is spot on, and we appreciate you mentioning how tipping supports local communities along the way. Thank you again for choosing Discover Sahara Tours and for sharing your experience so generously. We’d be honored to welcome you back one day — perhaps to explore Morocco’s imperial cities, the coast, or the Atlas Mountains next time. Until then, we wish you many more adventures ahead! 🌍✨

Marrakech to Merzouga on Private Tour: 3 Days of Desert Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.
How much does Marrakech to Merzouga on Private Tour: 3 Days of Desert Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $241 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Marrakech to Merzouga on Private Tour: 3 Days of Desert Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.
Is Marrakech to Merzouga on Private Tour: 3 Days of Desert Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 38 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Marrakech to Merzouga on Private Tour: 3 Days of Desert Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Marrakech to Merzouga on Private Tour: 3 Days of Desert Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Marrakech to Merzouga on Private Tour: 3 Days of Desert Adventure?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Marrakech to Merzouga on Private Tour: 3 Days of Desert Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Marrakech?
+
On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Marrakech?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Marrakech?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
