What you'll see and do

  1. Telouet Kasbah

Telouet is a set of mountains with snowy peaks, valleys, and plateaus. It is the territory of origin of the Glaouas, the old caïds who then reigned over the entire southern region and who was called the “lords of the Atlas”. Telouet is home to their home, a splendid kasbah built in the 19th century. A citadel symbol of strength and prestige brings together both a stately residence and a military command post to control the caravan trail and the entire region. The Kasbah of Telouet was an impressive ensemble: fortress, castle, and caravanserai. This fascinating jewel combines typical Amazigh architecture and the more oriental, Hispano-Moorish style, which testifies to the image of grandeur that the old masters wanted to display to the world. The beautifully decorated walls, and the ceilings adorned with rich designs and patterns show the luxury in which lived the Glaoua, owners of the casbah abandoned since 1956.

  2. Ait Ben Haddou

The Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, much as certain Boxed stars, this UNESCO-protected Kasbah seems suspiciously frozen in time. With Hollywood touch-ups, it still resembles its days in the 11th century during the Almoravid caravansary. Movie buffs recognize this red mud-brick Kasbah, from Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, Jewel of the Nile ( as well as the Egyptian towers, and Gladiator).

Desert paradise

Most memorable experience was the camel ride at sunset in the Merzouga Desert sand dunes. Then camping in the luxury camp site was fantastic, you could see several star constatations! Other than that, I had a fantastic driver who was knowledge and personable. Would highly recommend him for any English speaker!

Fantastic 3-day tour

We went to Merzouga on a 3 day tour. Our guide Omar and the driver Zacharia were absolutely fantastic. Omar, knowing all the corners along the way, was adjusting the journey according to what he perceived to be our interests. The trip exceeded our expectations, allowed us to visit the desert and have an idea of the diversity of Moroccan landscapes. We stayed 7 days in Morocco and want to go back, because there was a lot left to see and do, and we counted on Omar. Do not fail to order a meal with "Pizza Berbere"

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your feedback. We are glad to know that you did fully enjoyed your 3 Days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert with us. We hope see you soon again in Morocco!

Fantastic trip to the desert

I traveled with my husband and my 10-year-old son and everything went perfectly. A very intense 3-day trip with fantastic landscapes that change along the way from the great mountains of the Atlas to the dunes of the Sahara. Our guide Maria and our driver Khalid make a fantastic and unforgettable couple, always helpful and concerned about our well-being, did everything to make this trip fantastic. I recommend!

Response from the operator: Hello, We are glad to read your review and know that you enjoyed your Morocco desert tour. Maria & Khalid Greetings from Sahara desert

A fantastic experience

We made our booking even in Portugal, considering prices/quality and reading reviews. We made a 3 day tour and it was fantastic, I went with my wife and my 10-year-old son. There travel is long and tiring, but both the guide and the driver did everything to please us and make our trip as pleasant as possible. The truth is that in the middle of the first day we were not 3 customers and 1 guide and 1 driver, but rather a family of 5 people, both the guide Miriam and the driver Khalid were super super professionals, and besides professionals we created a very strong connection and that is what makes a difference in a trip, especially when it is more than 1 day, they took us to know the Atlas, beautiful landscapes, the best restaurants, with traditional food and affordable prices, the hotel was very good and the experience in the desert was incredible, see the sunset, sing and dance around the fire, simply wonderful. I congratulate the Enterprise that organizes this tour, but especially Mariam and Khalid who have provided us with 3 fantastic days, and who from now on are not just guides, they are our friends. I recommend Enterprise and this guide and driver, professionalism and joy. Isn’t that what you want on a holiday? Chukran Louis

Response from the operator: Hello Thank you indeed for your review. always feedback gives us more energy to improve more & more! See you soon in Morocco with new offers!

Marrakech to Merzouga: 3-Day Desert Journey to Erg Chebbi: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does Marrakech to Merzouga: 3-Day Desert Journey to Erg Chebbi cost?

+

Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Marrakech to Merzouga: 3-Day Desert Journey to Erg Chebbi take?

+

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is Marrakech to Merzouga: 3-Day Desert Journey to Erg Chebbi worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Marrakech to Merzouga: 3-Day Desert Journey to Erg Chebbi?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Marrakech to Merzouga: 3-Day Desert Journey to Erg Chebbi suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 72-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Marrakech to Merzouga: 3-Day Desert Journey to Erg Chebbi?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Marrakech to Merzouga: 3-Day Desert Journey to Erg Chebbi start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
