    About this experience

Come to our beautiful garden that has been in my family for generations. I will introduce you to the basic of creating mosaics using all natural crystalline marble and granite pebbles collected from the local beaches of Naxos just as the Ancient used to. Design inspiration may come from archaic motifs. Work from our samples or bring your own ideas. Alternatively learn hand carving of marble and sculpture techniques. I will provide a worktable, a block of Naxos white marble for practice, a small stone for a relief carving, safety glasses, hand tools, hammer, files, sandpaper. Enjoy fresh lemonade, coffee or tea, and sample of the fresh fruits from the garden. Everyone takes their finished relief carving or mosaic with them.

    This was a fun...

This was a fun experience. A few things to remember.... You are carving marble so wear something that is not dressy. You will be in an open area that is not air conditioned. You have to pack your marble for travel back home...be mindful of the size of marble you are picking. Also very important....keep an open mind! So, this was a fun and unexpected activity for our family of five (ages 13, 17. 18). We enjoyed this experience. Kristos was very nice (quirky). You can tell he knows what he is doing. His son was also there and was very sweet. Kristos made delicious fresh limeade as there are lime and lemon trees throughout the property. He shared how he propagated lime, lemon and orange trees (clearly we are city folks :).

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re delighted that your family of five enjoyed our workshop! It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed carving marble with Christos and getting a glimpse into the local way of life, from the citrus trees around the property to the freshly made lemonade! We truly appreciate your kind words about Christos and his son. And we couldn’t agree more, keeping an open mind is definitely part of the experience! Thank you as well for sharing these helpful tips with future guests. We hope to welcome your family back to Naxos for another creative and memorable experience!

Genuine Greek experience with a true artisan

If you want a genuine Greek experience with a true artisan this class is an exceptional choice. The host picks the group up personally. He is friendly, funny, and communicates very well. Fresh lemonade made from the fruit of the trees on his property was waiting when we arrived. We were taught how to hand carve marble through demonstration, and guided practice. Everyone left with a beautiful piece of their own creation. Ask to see the hand made marble bathroom under construction. It’s awe inspiring.

    Excellent

Was very authentic. Made us have respect for marble sculptures. We had an 8 year old in our group. Make sure to make room in your luggage as each piece is fairly small it will weigh 1kg.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you found the workshop authentic and that it gave your group a deeper appreciation for marble sculpture. It's especially nice to know your 8-year-old enjoyed the experience too—we love welcoming families of all ages. And that's a great tip about leaving a little extra room in your luggage! We hope your handmade marble piece made it home safely and serves as a lasting reminder of your time with us. We hope to welcome you back again in the future!

    Fantastic Experience!

It is truly an experience and was so much fun! Marble cutting isn’t easy but they help teach you and you come out with an amazing piece to take home. Very unique experience and will do it again when we come back!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you had such a fun and memorable experience with us. Marble cutting can definitely be challenging at first, but we're glad our team was able to guide you through the process and help you create a piece you're proud to take home. It means a lot to know you found the experience unique and enjoyable. We look forward to welcoming you back for another workshop the next time you're in the area! 😊

    The man was very short...

The man was very short and a bit rude when you made mistakes. Didn’t really take time to help mostly sat around smoking and talking with his daughter. Use the restroom if you do decide to do this because you have to use a tree.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that you felt I was rude but I helped you as much as necessary especially with your children. My work is to let you create your own marble piece not to do it for you.

Marble Carving or Mosaic Basic Techniques -3 hour lesson -: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naxos.

How much does Marble Carving or Mosaic Basic Techniques -3 hour lesson - cost?

    +

Prices start at $101 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naxos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Marble Carving or Mosaic Basic Techniques -3 hour lesson - take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naxos is not rushed.

Is Marble Carving or Mosaic Basic Techniques -3 hour lesson - worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naxos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Marble Carving or Mosaic Basic Techniques -3 hour lesson -?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Marble Carving or Mosaic Basic Techniques -3 hour lesson - suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Marble Carving or Mosaic Basic Techniques -3 hour lesson -?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naxos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naxos and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Marble Carving or Mosaic Basic Techniques -3 hour lesson - start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naxos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Naxos?

    +

On Outty we rank every Naxos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Naxos:Half-day cooking class at Basiliko Farm, Naxos Perivoli Farm Experience & Wood-fire Cooking Class, Naxos Kayak Tour to Rina Cave with Snorkeling and Homemade lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Naxos?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Naxos?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
