A true authentic experience!

This experience was amazing. I had wonderful conversations with the driver, and also the teacher at Tres Colores. The story behind this place ran by woman is really special. I had a wonderful fresh, straight from the land, warm lunch upon arrival at Tres Colores. Had a little break to enjoy the spectacular view of the snow topped mountains before we began the workshop, where we then naturally dyed alpalca yarn, washed the furr with a root that is a natural soap, threading and ultimately weaving my own bracelet. It was a handson experience where the teacher knew how to explain everything with love and patience. I got to even learn some words in Quechua. After class one can stroll in their shop with all their beautiful hand made products (paying with card is possible). Visiting the the salt mines and moray was also really beautiful and because we started early we beat the crowds. I was the only one booked for this tour and workshop (by chance) so I had a lot of personal attention and was very special to experience. And I gained even more respect on the process of making these weaved products. I highly recommend Tres Colores!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your heartfelt review! We're truly honored that your experience with us was one of the highlights of your trip. It means so much to know you enjoyed the workshop, the home-cooked lunch, learning a few Quechua words, and discovering the traditions behind our natural dyes and weaving. We're especially happy that the personal attention made your visit even more meaningful. Thank you for your recommendation—we hope to welcome you back to Peru and Tres Colores again someday!

A perfect day in Perú!

My guide and driver Dionel was amazing! I learned so much about the history and culture of Peru while visiting archeological sites. I was traveling solo and I felt safe and had some beautiful photos taken! I had a wonderful time learning about the dyeing and weaving process in a gorgeous setting at Andean Colors. It was the perfect day in Peru for anyone who loves to learn about art and culture.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! We are delighted that you enjoyed exploring Peru’s history, culture, and archaeological sites with Dionel. It means a lot to know that you felt safe and comfortable as a solo traveler and that you were able to capture beautiful memories along the way. We’re also happy that you enjoyed your time at Andean Colors learning about our traditional dyeing and weaving techniques. Sharing our culture, art, and heritage with visitors is our passion. Amazing class at Andean Colours.

Andean Colours was one of the most special and unique experiences in Peru! The class for natural dyeing was incredible and super informative. We were involved in every step of the process and the class was just two of us so it felt very unique to learn in that environment. After making the wool, we were taught how to weave bracelets which was also so fun. The home cooked meal for lunch was delicious - thank you so much! Also a really special organisation that supports single mothers who are artisans.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your beautiful words and for sharing your experience with us It truly means a lot to hear that Andean Colors became one of your most special memories in Peru We are very happy that you enjoyed the natural dyeing workshop and that you could experience every step of the ancestral textile process with your own hands. Creating, learning, and sharing in a small and personal environment is exactly the experience we hope every guest can feel We are also so glad you enjoyed weaving your bracelet and sharing our homemade Andean lunch with us. Most importantly, thank you for recognizing the heart behind our project — supporting local artisan women and single mothers through preserving traditional Andean textile knowledge. Your visit helps keep these ancestral traditions alive for future generations. We hope to welcome you again someday in the Sacred Valley ✨ With gratitude, Marco Zuniga & the Andean Colors family.

Beautiful time!

Book this immediately! This was one of my absolute favorite days in Peru! The textile workshop was amazing with such knowledgeable and patient instructors and incredible views. Me and one other person were there so it felt like a private workshop, they even arranged drop off and pick up for a reasonable price. We learned how to do everything wash, process, spin, dye and weave alpaca wool. With the company's origins founded in supporting single mothers you know your dollar is going somewhere worth it. Lunch was great! I even added an extension to Maras and moray with this company. An incredible day!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this incredible review! Reading your words truly means a lot to us. We are very happy to know that your day with us became one of your favorite experiences in Peru. That is exactly what we hope to create — not just a visit, but a meaningful connection with our culture, our traditions, and our people. It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed every part of the textile process. Our team puts their heart into sharing each step with patience and care, so knowing you felt that makes us very proud. We also love that you highlighted the small-group experience — we believe those moments make everything more personal and special. Thank you as well for recognizing our mission. Supporting and empowering women, especially single mothers, is at the core of what we do, and your visit truly makes a difference. We’re glad you enjoyed the lunch and your extended visit to Maras and Moray — it sounds like you made the most of your day! You will always be welcome here. We hope to see you again someday in the Andes.

Strongly recommend!

We strongly recommend this experience! Marco was very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot about alpaca wool and the dying process. It was very interactive and Marco encouraged questions. It is also in a beautiful location with amazing views. It’s a must-do if you’re in Cusco!

Response from the operator: Muchas gracias por su hermosa recomendación.

Maras + Moray & Textile Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Maras + Moray & Textile Experience cost?

+

Prices start at $139 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Maras + Moray & Textile Experience take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Maras + Moray & Textile Experience worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Maras + Moray & Textile Experience?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Maras + Moray & Textile Experience suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Maras + Moray & Textile Experience?

+

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Maras + Moray & Textile Experience start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
