AMAZING TOUR with an EXPERT guide!

We booked this tour on a recommendation from another excellent tour guide who we met on our trip. Herbert was absolutely amazing! His communication before the tour was clear and helpful, as he helped us navigate and avoid the onslaught of "tour guide and parking lot hustlers" as we approached the park; he lead us directly to his friend's parking lot that is conveniently located RIGHT outside the park entrance gates. We met Herbert easily inside the parking lot, he ushered us thru the admission gates quickly and our tour started fluidly. Within minutes, Herbert located lizards, snakes, capuchins, hummingbirds (in their nest!) and ground crabs.. and continued onwards to spotting a very large boa constrictor, toucans, howler monkeys sleeping, bats and spiders. Once finished, he guided us to the Manuel Antonio Park beaches (which are super lovely btw) and gave us tips about other shoreline areas to explore. Herbert is a certified expert naturalist who is obviously well-respected and loved by his peers in the park; they all help each other spot animals throughout their tours which enriches the shared experience for everyone. And, unlike the other nature tours during our trip to Costa Rica, Herbert takes all of the photos/videos with his amazing scope, then shares them with you via AirDrop at the end of the tour; this way, you can simply enjoy the flora and fauna with your own eyes and stay in the moment vs. taking out your phone for every picture. We had a very safe, exciting and most of all FUN time with Herbert who I highly-recommend! Though we did not have time for his night tour, he shared pictures from it with us and.. WHOA.. it looks like another excellent experience with Herbert to consider!

    Wonderful Experience!

Wow! What a tour! Our guide Herbert was a bundle of knowledge and amazing- 16 years experience! We would never have seen all of the animals, birds, insects, etc. without him pointing them out. He also shared all photos with us after making us able to enjoy the experience in the moment. Walking the park by yourself is a mistake, get with Herbert ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

100% recommend! Monkeys, sloths and an anteater...oh my!

We did a tour of Manuel Antonio National Park with Herbert and it was fantastic!  We had a private tour that included transportation from our hotel to the park.  Herbert was great about arranging all the details in advance so we had a smooth experience the day of our tour.  Herbert is passionate both about Costa Rica and about wildlife – and our group definitely benefitted from his passion.  We were able to see and learn about birds (so many different birds!), crabs, spiders, frogs, bats, sloths, monkeys, anteaters, lizards and so much more.  Herbert is beyond knowledgeable – he’s also down to earth.  He had great stories to share, knew the park like the back of his hand and knows all the other guides (a sign of a reliable, trusted friend).  We are grateful for the few hours we had with Herbert and will book another tour with him the next time we are in Costa Rica!

    Great place

It is a beautiful wildlife park connected to a beach. We saw lots of animals and our guide had information about each one. At the beach there were monkeys walking right near us

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quepos.

How much does Manuel Antonio National Park *Group tour/Park ticket NOT included cost?

    +

Is Manuel Antonio National Park *Group tour/Park ticket NOT included worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quepos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. What should I bring or wear?

    +

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Quepos?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Quepos?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
