Nacarcosta Mangrove Boat tour
The most relaxed tour we did on our trip. First we were given a tour of the local farm and were able to pet a water buffalo, view plants like cinnamon. I loved the passion of our guide Diago. We were able to see Proboscis bats, a Fer de lance, many basilisk, turtles, Capuchins, and birds including a Crested Caracara. This is a tour that can be repeated many times and always find different fauna.
Response from the operator: Every visit brings new surprises, and we love sharing the incredible biodiversity of our area with our guests. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure and even more wildlife discoveries! 🦇🐢🌿

Best Mangove Tour
Our guide was amazing, he was respectful and educated, and make sure to respect the mangrove area. There were other operators that were not following the rules and were making noise to antagonize the monkeys, and our guide explained to us how harmful that was. We appreciated his approach to educating us and making us have the best time ever. The tour starts with the property farm, where our kids got to feed chickens and peacocks and sea geese and pet even a donkey and a water buffalo!! Total highlight for the kids!
Response from the operator: We’re happy your family enjoyed the farm and the mangrove experience. We’re especially glad you appreciated our commitment to protecting the wildlife. 🌿🐒

Best night mangrove tour
Excellent nighttime tour with Leonard as our guide, he went out of his way to find so many animals for us from iguanas to Caymans to several species of birds to crabs and bats, snakes, and some other things I’m forgetting. Leonard was so enthusiastic and with the extra mile to really explain things point out, unusual, mangrove trees, I recommend Leonard and the tour company very much
Response from the operator: It was a pleasure to serve you. We are committed to providing an experience, not just a tour, at Nacarcosta. We are delighted to hear such kind words and look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit.

Best mangrove visit
Excellent 5 star review. Leonard was our guide and he went out of his way to search out so many interesting animals. We saw iguana, several species of birds, crabs, Caymans, bats, snakes I’m probably some others. I’m forgetting. He was so enthusiastic and showed us some pictures of animals on his phone to match with those in the wild and really went the extra effort. I can’t recommend this place in Leonard enough.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your nice words. Hope to ese you soon.

Mangrove Boat: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quepos.
How much does Mangrove Boat cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quepos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mangrove Boat take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quepos is not rushed.
Is Mangrove Boat worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 169 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quepos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mangrove Boat?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mangrove Boat suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mangrove Boat?
+
Around 59 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quepos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quepos and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mangrove Boat start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quepos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Quepos?
+
On Outty we rank every Quepos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Waterfall Adventure, Manuel Antonio Canopy Tour - Longest Twin Zip Line in Central America, Manuel Antonio Park Tour and its Amazing Wildlife and Beaches. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Quepos?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Quepos?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
