Amazing tour!
This was an amazing tour! So beautiful kayaking through the mangroves! We saw so many animals, and our tour guide, Kendall, had such great information to share about the animals and area! We loved this experience. A must do!

Loved kayaking the mangrove!
This was such a wonderful tour! Javier picked us up right from our airbnb and shared so much information along the drive to Isla de Damas. We saw iguana, tiger heron, white faced monkeys, a sleeping long nosed bat, a sleeping silky anteater (a rare find!). Our kids enjoyed it (17, 10, 8);Javier was great with them. He shared so much information about the different species, the ecosystem and interconnectedness of the mangrove. Afterwards we had a delicious typical Costa Rican lunch at a wonderful soda. Highly recommend!

A great morning in the mangroves!
We saw a whole community of white faced monkeys, the guides were knowledgeable and entertaining, and they kept a good pace for our family with frequent stops to observe and learn about the mangroves or animals.

Mangrove Kayak trip and waterfall swim
We had a wonderful time learning how to kayak, exploring the mangroves, and learning about the history of the area. He pointed out birds and explained the ecology of the mangrove forests We also went to a secluded waterfall to swim near the mountains, and there were no other people there, which I really enjoyed. They also made sure we had water and cut fresh fruit to snack on. It was really nice doing a trip where we didn't feel rushed at all and could spend as much time swimming as we wanted.

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Mangrove Kayaking (or boat) Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quepos.
How much does Mangrove Kayaking (or boat) Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quepos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mangrove Kayaking (or boat) Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quepos is not rushed.
Is Mangrove Kayaking (or boat) Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quepos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mangrove Kayaking (or boat) Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mangrove Kayaking (or boat) Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Mangrove Kayaking (or boat) Adventure?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quepos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quepos and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mangrove Kayaking (or boat) Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quepos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Quepos?
+
On Outty we rank every Quepos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whitewater Rafting Savegre Class II-III plus Waterfall Manuel Antonio, Manuel Antonio Canopy Tour - Longest Twin Zip Line in Central America, Waterfall Ziplining & Canyoning. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Quepos?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Quepos?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
