What you get
About this experience
The Three Cities is a collective description of the three fortified cities of Cospicua, Vittoriosa and Senglea. During the tour you will drive past Cospicua, you will then arrive in Vittoriosa. The third city Senglea is also called Civitas Invicta because it managed to resist the Ottoman invasion at the Great Siege of 1565. You will then drive to the 1743 ir-Razzett l-Antik Qormi. The wine tasting tour commences with a historical introduction amongst original artefacts, followed by an explanation about the process of how the locally grown grapes are pressed, fermented and eventually transformed into wine. The wine sampling is held in the restaurant, where trained staff guide guests through a wine tasting session to sample different Maltese wines accompanied by a selection of local savouries like Maltese bread and cheese. Tour on Tuesday is available in English, French, German & Italian. Tour on Friday is available just in English

3 cities and wine tasting
Trip was easy to book. Good value for money. Guide was very knowledgeable and told us lots of information not only about the 3 cities but also about Malta its history and economy. Wine tasting guide was very informative told us all about the wine and about what grapes were used and the process and history of each wine. I would recommend this trip.

Good way to quickly get in two activities in a short time.
This was a good way to get a quick look at the 3 cities with a guide who knew interesting information. The wine tasting was good, but it is a big bus tour with lots of people and a buffet style food pairing so not as good as others that I have been on. Still was fun though.

Great guide, great wine and food!
Michael our local guide was so lovely and had a lot of good knowledge and history about the places we were visiting. He was funny, sweet and very engaging as a guide. The host at the wine tasting was also so lovely and knew a lot about wine in the region and served us some lovely options with a delicious Maltese antipasti. All In all, a lovely tour.

Good tour with food and wine
Well organised tour. First hour was picking up others from hotels as we were first pick up but this did give us a bus tour of parts of Malta we had not seen. Guide was very informative on walking tour which lasted an hour. Good selection of Maltese food along with 3 wines to taste. Again the guide at wine tasting was very knowledgeable. Well worth doing this tour

3 cities wine tour
The mini bus stopped after about a 20 minute drive and let us all out to pick up a different coach for our specific tour, which wasn’t in the itinerary and probably should have been, because we weren’t expecting that. Some people were starting to get a bit cold waiting in the shade. The tour of the city and the venue for the wine tasting were very good and there was a generous selection of food. There were 3 wines to taste, all good, and the price was reasonable too if you wanted to buy a bottle of any of the wines tasted

Why this scores 49
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Malta: The Three Cities and Wine Tasting Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mellieha.
How much does Malta: The Three Cities and Wine Tasting Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $38 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mellieha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Malta: The Three Cities and Wine Tasting Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mellieha is not rushed.
Is Malta: The Three Cities and Wine Tasting Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.6/5 across 111 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mellieha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Malta: The Three Cities and Wine Tasting Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Malta: The Three Cities and Wine Tasting Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Malta: The Three Cities and Wine Tasting Tour?
+
Around 39 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mellieha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mellieha and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Malta: The Three Cities and Wine Tasting Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mellieha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mellieha?
+
On Outty we rank every Mellieha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gozo All Inclusive Chauffeured Tuk Tuk Day Tour - Blue Lagoon, Gozo Quad Bike Day Tour - All-inclusive + Blue Lagoon, Gozo Full-Day Quad Tour with Private Boat to Gozo & return. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mellieha?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mellieha?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
