Enjoyable trip to medieval times
Owen was punctual and arrived at the meeting point on time. The car was exceptionally clean and comfortable. He provided excellent commentary throughout the journey, combined with plenty of funny jokes, making the trip both informative and enjoyable. The entire trip took a bit more than five hours. Owen is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Malahide Castle and the medieval monastery we visited. His passion for Irish culture and history was clear throughout the entire trip. Everything was very well planned and organised. Owen paid attention to every detail and even provided link to purchase the castle tickets in advance. We always knew what to expect, where we needed to be, and when we needed to be there. His company, sense of humor, communication skills, and professionalism made the experience truly enjoyable. I would highly recommend Owen to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, friendly, organized and funny guide. Our expectations were high and Owen met it by providing the great experience.

Nice place to see!
The castle's tour guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. The place itself wasn't so busy at the time of visit so it was relaxing and comfortable to be walking around the whole garden/place. The Butterfly House is ok, but not amazing.

Great guide. Knows his Irish history and funny too!
Owen was a great guide. Knowledgable, welcoming and funny too. I went with my aunt who is obviously a native of Ireland. However Owen was able to tell us stuff we didn’t know. His car was lovely and comfortable too!

Owen is knowledgeable, gracious, and kind—AMAZING day!
We scheduled a tour with Owen and since it was private, he allowed us to customize it exactly the way we wanted. We were able to travel to the lake where parts of the show Vikings was filmed, which was high on my bucket list. We were also able to plan a romantic walk for just my husband and me. Owen was absolutely delightful and made us feel completely comfortable while he took care of the logistics of getting us from place to place. He found a charming little pub for my husband and I to enjoy a relaxing meal in the middle of our touring day, and the food was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed seeing an ancient monastic site, old ruins, and lots of beautiful nature in the area. Owen is a great resource for information in Ireland, and when I return, I will absolutely contact Owen as my first resource to explore more of Ireland! Thanks so much for an incredible day. Lots of beautiful memories!

Malahide Castle and Medieval Monastery Private Tour from Dublin: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Dublin.
How much does Malahide Castle and Medieval Monastery Private Tour from Dublin cost?
+
Prices start at $769 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Dublin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Malahide Castle and Medieval Monastery Private Tour from Dublin take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dublin is not rushed.
Is Malahide Castle and Medieval Monastery Private Tour from Dublin worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Dublin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Malahide Castle and Medieval Monastery Private Tour from Dublin?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Malahide Castle and Medieval Monastery Private Tour from Dublin suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Malahide Castle and Medieval Monastery Private Tour from Dublin?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dublin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dublin and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Malahide Castle and Medieval Monastery Private Tour from Dublin start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Dublin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Dublin?
+
On Outty we rank every Dublin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Dublin to Cliffs of Moher, including Wild Atlantic Way and Galway, Dublin Highlights and Hidden Gems Guided Walking Tour, The Little Museum of Dublin Famous Guided Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Dublin?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Dublin?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
