Amazing Experience with Beautiful Salala Tours

Our trip with Beautiful Salala Tours was absolutely amazing from start to end, and a huge part of that was our wonderful tour guide, Abo Salim!! From the very beginning, everything was perfect. He picked us up directly from our hotel and was right on time. The whole journey was extremely comfortable and relaxed — it honestly felt like going on a trip with a friend rather than being on a formal tour. Throughout the day, Abo Salim shared so much about Omani culture, his own life, and what it means to be Omani. While driving, he would point out interesting places and explain what we were seeing along the way, which made the experience even more special. It wasn’t just a simple desert tour — we also visited the ancient city, saw camels, and explored so many beautiful and meaningful places. He even made sure we got to try traditional Omani snacks and see famous local items like the traditional Omani ships or camel meat. Along the way, he seemed to know everyone, which made everything so easy and enjoyable. Wherever we went, we were warmly welcomed — whether it was during the camel tour or when we stopped to enjoy traditional Omani coffee and tea. Abo Salim made us feel completely comfortable at all times. He was always happy to stop for photos, helped us take great pictures, and gave us fantastic advice about other places and tours to explore in Oman. Overall, this was such a wonderful experience — it truly felt less like a tour and more like an unforgettable adventure with a group of friends. I highly recommend Beautiful Salala Tours and especially Abo Salim to anyone visiting the area. We will definitely remember this trip forever!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We are so glad that Abo Salim made your trip feel like an adventure with friends by sharing Omani culture and local treats. It is great to hear you felt so comfortable and welcomed throughout the day. We truly appreciate the recommendation and hope to see you again soon!

Special and unique moments in the endless desert

We visited Oman for the first time, and it couldn’t have been more wonderful. We booked the desert camping tour very spontaneously, everything was arranged to make the impossible possible. We were extremely lucky to have a very special person as our tour guide - Mohamed Al Mahdali. Kind, friendly, attentive. His professionalism comes with warmth and humor, making you feel comfortable. He kindly picked us up from the airport, and we immediately felt we were in good hands. We went to see camels in their natural habitat, it was lovely. The desert drive was an adventure. The night sky was unique, the stars truly took our breath away. The food prepared by the funny chef was varied and delicious. The campfire and tea warmed us from the inside before the cool night arrived. Every moment was special. From beginning to end, we were able to enjoy and experience everything fully. Mohamed also helped us with programs and ideas for the rest of our journey, allowing us to discover different beautiful places in the lovely city of Salalah. Thank you for this wonderful trip, especially big thank to Mohamed. We will keep this special time in good memory. Oman has won our hearts — we will come back, inshallah.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We are thrilled that Mohamed Al Mahdali and the team could make your spontaneous desert trip so special, from the starlit sky to the local insights. We’re so glad Oman has won your hearts and look forward to your next visit!

Wonderful night in the desert

We enjoyed a great overnight tour in the desert, which was a brilliant experience. Perfectls organized. Many thanks to the driver and guide Ibrahim, who gave us highly valuable insights into the Oman culture and society. We underestimated a little bit the temperature in the night ...it was really cold. Don't forget warm clothes.

Response from the operator: Thank you! We are thrilled that you had a great experience and appreciated Ibrahim’s cultural insights. We also value your tip about the cold desert nights—it’s a great reminder for everyone to pack warmly. We’ll be sure to share your gratitude with Ibrahim!

3 day/2 night Empty Quarter tour

We had a great and unique experience visiting the Rub Al Khali desert with our guide Abo Salim. He was lovely, very knowledgable and a great offroad driver! We did the 3d/2n tour which allowed us to visit an oasis, but if you would like to see some of the first rows of large sand dunes the 2d/1n is likely plenty.

Response from the operator: Thank you! We are thrilled that you enjoyed the deep desert experience with Abo Salim and appreciated his off-road driving skills. Your advice on the different tour lengths is incredibly helpful, and we will certainly share your lovely feedback with him!

But the desert makes you want more...

I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get a taste of the desert. As the journey (from Salalah) is around 200km, we decided to take the overnight tour and spend the night in a tent on the edge of the desert. The food in the camp was excellent and probably beats anything the hotel can offer. The tents are simple with a bed, sanitary facilities are centrally located on the property.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much! We are thrilled that the overnight desert stay and the excellent camp food made your 200km journey from Salalah so worthwhile. We’ll be sure to share your recommendation and appreciation with the team! ✨🇴🇲🏜️⛺🥘🌅🙌

How long does Magical Night Stay in Rub Al Khali Empty Quarter Desert Salalah take?

+

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Salalah is not rushed.

Is Magical Night Stay in Rub Al Khali Empty Quarter Desert Salalah worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 40 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Salalah, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Magical Night Stay in Rub Al Khali Empty Quarter Desert Salalah?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Magical Night Stay in Rub Al Khali Empty Quarter Desert Salalah suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 48-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Magical Night Stay in Rub Al Khali Empty Quarter Desert Salalah?

+

Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Salalah can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Salalah and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Magical Night Stay in Rub Al Khali Empty Quarter Desert Salalah start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Salalah within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Salalah?

+

On Outty we rank every Salalah experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include East Salalah Mountain Safari, Wadi Darbat, Beach, Camels, Dunes, Private Salalah Mountain Safari, West Salalah Tour - Caribbean of Orient - Fazayah Beach with City. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Salalah?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Salalah?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
