    About this experience

Discover a playful new way to experience Madrid’s iconic tapas culture! Step inside a secret lounge in the heart of the city and become the chef of your own tapas experience. Instead of a traditional cooking class, you'll use high-quality Spanish ingredients to creatively assemble your own cold tapas, inspired by the origins and social spirit of tapas. Create classic-style banderillas, montados, and other tapas combinations using your own creativity, while taking part in fun games, interactive challenges, music, and themed photo moments. And because no Spanish tapas experience is complete without a drink, enjoy unlimited sangria throughout the session. Perfect for couples, friends, food lovers, and travelers looking for a fun and unconventional Madrid experience, this is tapas with a twist: hands-on, social, creative, and designed to be enjoyed together.

    Perfect evening activity

I enjoy trying local foods and drinks and this became the highlight of my trip . The guide was friendly and passionate about Spanish gin and I learned much about the botanicals used in the different varieties The tasting was well paced with a selection of gin that were different. The tapas were excellent with generous portions of cured meat and local cheeses. Overall it was a relaxed evening with great food , quality drinks and plenty of local insights. Perfect activity for a memorable evening, highly recommend.

In the end it was fun and a great experience!

Overall, the experience was really fun! However, it got off to a rocky start as after arriving at the designated location, staff stated we were not in the correct place and tried to shoo us off to the Sol area and they seemed completely unfamiliar with the Gin Workshop. We showed confirmation documentation and there were multiple conversations between staff members and then all was righted. David provided us with the 1st 2 gins and tapas. Then he left (perhaps the end of his shift?) and Moses did the 3rd. The 3d was our favorite made with Rivas Gin + cardomom + pepper + cinnamon + a small splash of sprite + tonic. It was delicious. So the overall experience turned out just fine and was fun! As a side note, we like the 3rd drink so much that we made a specific point to return to the restaurant where the workshop took place 3 weeks later and explained the drink we came for made with Rivas. The bartender nor the other person (the original one who tried to send us on our way to Sol) knew how to make the drink and after we described the ingredients, he brought them individually to us and we tried to re-create the drink. We failed. I would encourage the staff to learn how to make the most delicious gin and tonic (and I'm not a gin tonic drinker, normally) from Moses. A boost business. The restaurant is located across from the San Miquel market so...location and opportunity.

    Introduced to new gins!

This gin and tonics workshop was interesting, fun, and tasty!! Moises was our host; he was knowledgeable and charming and made us fabulous G&Ts with gin we’d never had before. The accompanying tapas were delicious. A big thanks to Martin for making them for us. I recommend this as a great way to start an evening in Madrid!!

Madrid Tapas Lab: Create Your Own Tapas & Unlimited Sangria: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.

How much does Madrid Tapas Lab: Create Your Own Tapas & Unlimited Sangria cost?

    +

Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Madrid Tapas Lab: Create Your Own Tapas & Unlimited Sangria take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.

Is Madrid Tapas Lab: Create Your Own Tapas & Unlimited Sangria worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Madrid Tapas Lab: Create Your Own Tapas & Unlimited Sangria?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Madrid Tapas Lab: Create Your Own Tapas & Unlimited Sangria suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Madrid Tapas Lab: Create Your Own Tapas & Unlimited Sangria?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Madrid Tapas Lab: Create Your Own Tapas & Unlimited Sangria start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Madrid?

    +

On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Madrid?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Madrid?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
