Royal Palace of Madrid
Skip the lines and dive right into the history of this beautiful palace. Did you know its size doubles the one of Buckingham Palace? Build in an Italian baroque style, it was the former residence of the Spanish Monarchy from 1766 to 1931. Nowadays, it still is a great example of the establishment of Madrid as the capital of the kingdom. Today, it holds the most important receptions of the Spanish Crown. Know the audiences, dinner parties and signature of agreements celebrated through the years. Walk around the Armory Square. Marvel at the beautiful tapestries and elegant furniture. Follow your guide through the Grand Staircase, the Throne Room and the Banqueting Hall, among others. Once your guided visit finishes, you can stay inside the Palace and go to the Royal Armory on your own. Make sure not to miss the views from the viewpoint of the Armory square!

The sightseeing portion...
The sightseeing portion was fantastic! Lots of great info and knowledge. Some walking some air conditioned bus- great balance. The Royal Palace was way too crowded and the tour guide just rushed us through. Would rather have seen it without a group.

Very good way of seeing Madrid
My husband and I are very happy about the tour! Our guide Miguel is really friendly, nice, and knowledge about all the history and he is quite humorous too. The tour consists of 3 parts: about 1 hour of walking around the central area of the old city, and about 1 hour on a bus (passing by a few more districts), and then about 1 hour guided tour in the Royal Palace of Madrid. It is a good way of seeing all the historical landmark of the city and a quick way of understanding their history.

Fantastic Tour
Our guide was great about telling the history of Madrid's fantastic architecture and about the rooms and features of the Royal Palace.

Five hour tour of Central Madrid (walking], bus tour and royal palace
The tour , equally in Spanish and English, was about five hours long including walking around the central area, panoramic bus tour and royal palace visit. everything was spot on and the tour guide, Javier, was very knowledgable and also had a good sense of humour. Highly recommended to get a reasonable feel of the touristic parts of Madrid.

Horrible experience. Simply awful. Terrible communication and not friendly, please use another organization for your touring needs in Madrid. A guide for the Palace isn't necessary and the free walking tours available in Madrid were great for €50 less.

Why this scores 51
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Madrid Sightseeing Tour with Royal Palace Skip the Line Ticket: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.
How much does Madrid Sightseeing Tour with Royal Palace Skip the Line Ticket cost?
+
Prices start at $52 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Madrid Sightseeing Tour with Royal Palace Skip the Line Ticket take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.
Is Madrid Sightseeing Tour with Royal Palace Skip the Line Ticket worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 244 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Madrid Sightseeing Tour with Royal Palace Skip the Line Ticket?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Madrid Sightseeing Tour with Royal Palace Skip the Line Ticket suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Madrid Sightseeing Tour with Royal Palace Skip the Line Ticket?
+
Around 85 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Madrid Sightseeing Tour with Royal Palace Skip the Line Ticket start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Madrid?
+
On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Madrid?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Madrid?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
