The heart of Madrid served on a plate!

Perfect introduction to our visit to Madrid. James is an extraordinary guide — part food expert, part historian (though he'll deny it), part storyteller — and his enthusiasm for the city is completely infectious. We moved through the city beautifully, grazing on tapas that ranged from the familiar to the genuinely surprising, but what set this experience apart was the context James brought to every bite. Each dish came with a story — about the community, the people, the traditions behind it — and by the end of the tour we felt like we understood Madrid in a way that no museum or guidebook could have given us. We also made a friend! James clearly loves what he does, and it shows. His anecdotes were funny, his tips were genuinely useful, and he provided a perfect afternoon for us. Thank you, James!

Response from the operator: So glad you enjoyed it and you for your review. We always try to show people why we love Madrid so much, giving them LOTS of food and drink, some sightseeing, a bit of light history and culture, and a smattering of useful insider advice!! It's always great to meet nice folk and bind over some of Madrid's best tapas and a few stories... Hope to see you back this way again one day soon, we have lots more to show you!

    Madrid Food Tour

A must do in Madrid!!! This was the highlight of our trip. Myself, my husband, my elderly parents, and my 20 year old son went on a tour with James to several restaurants/bars. We tried various types of food and drinks that are common in Madrid. James explained some history and background about the city and all the food and drinks. It was perfect for all ages and a lot of fun! Highly recommended!!

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to write us a review and delighted you enjoyed it. We always say that what we do is an ageless activity and all about having a fun and filling experience exploring Madrid, its history, culture and above all its food and drink. Do join us again one day!

    Great Time with Adventurous Appetites!

Our family had a great time today with James! Our group spanned 3 generations and James customized the experience so everyone had something to enjoy. We tried tapas and drinks that we never would have in Madrid, unless we were on his tour. James also added the perfect mix of history and culture to make it well rounded experience. I have one last things to say…churros with hot chocolate!!!

Response from the operator: So glad you enjoyed it and thank you for your review. We try to mix in a bit of light history and culture with some great food and drink and a bit of local advice for the rest of your stay... and hot chocolate and churros is always great!!!!

Madrid Small Group Premium Lunchtime Tapas & Vermouth Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.

How much does Madrid Small Group Premium Lunchtime Tapas & Vermouth Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $147 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Madrid Small Group Premium Lunchtime Tapas & Vermouth Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.

Is Madrid Small Group Premium Lunchtime Tapas & Vermouth Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Madrid Small Group Premium Lunchtime Tapas & Vermouth Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Madrid Small Group Premium Lunchtime Tapas & Vermouth Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Madrid Small Group Premium Lunchtime Tapas & Vermouth Tour?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Madrid Small Group Premium Lunchtime Tapas & Vermouth Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Madrid?

    +

On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Madrid?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Madrid?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
